  1. What with Platini and co. waiting to prove a point in regards to football finances how come no one mentions Barcelona's debts. Their debts rose to €320 million in the latest accounts. Can't be good, even for such a huge club? Source: http://www.dnaindia.com/money/report_barcelona-s-revenue-jumps-10pct-to-445-5-million_1403675 And: http://www.fcbarcelona.cat/web/downloads/sala_premsa/memoria/2009/memoria_barca_economica_eng.pdf
  2. I am sure, i heard something on ssn a year or 2 ago that30 % of players in England are English 40 % of players in Germany are German 60% ofplayers in spain are Spanish and 70 % of players in Italy are Italian. And what's the percentage of foreigners at Real and Barça, given that most of the Spanish team comes from those two clubs? 52,4% foreigners in Barca's first team. 58,3% in Real's. EDIT: But on the other hand, the numbers for Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool are 70,4%, 67,7%, 86,7% and 77,8% respectively.
  3. Surely you must have scored some goals as well VI? I remember my last season in the youth team as a goalie. I was captain, designated PK/FK taker. Won the scoring charts by a landslide. 18 games, 6 goals conceded, 29 scored. That was probably the most fun season I've ever had. I've also been fortunate enough to save a couple of penalties in play-off matches and stuff like that. Let's hope for another one this year.
  4. Depends on your supplier. If you have a satellite dish through Viasat you'll be able to see all 380 games live. If you have cable through some other supplier like Comhem, you'll get 300 games if you can use the HD channels and 250 games if you only have SD channels. Still pretty good though. Viasat also have some ondemand service (internet stream) where they show Champions League live, and probably will show all Premier League games too. It cost 159 sek/month (£14/month). Well, if this isn't an incentive to get yourself a satellite dish, I don't know what is. I've already made a deal with my landlord to install a dish at the roof of the house where I live. Nice.
  5. I certainly hope we're safe before the last six games. What a fucked up run-in.
  6. Scandinavia is awesome. It sure is. How much will you have to pay for it in Norway? 199 or 239 for online streaming, can't remember. And think it's 249 to 299 depending on your distributor for TV. That being roughly £25 a month for every single premiership match. Bit different to Sky and their £50 a month for 4 games a week. Or roughly about £13 a month in Sweden.

And think it's 249 to 299 depending on your distributor for TV. That's quite good actually. But expensive in comparison to us. I pay 139 SEK/month for all the Viasat Sports channels.

  9. Random thread bump. Just saw that Viasat will broadcast all 380 PL games on their tv channels LIVE here in Sweden. Lovely!
  10. It's an elephant. Ghana has the star.
  11. Thanks for posting, Greeny. I'm Swedish FFS!
  12. There is nothing wrong with the ball really. We've been training and playing with it for the last month and it's great. Not at such high altitude though. The first couple of sessions it was a bit hit and miss with the long passes due to it moving faster in the air but all in all it's great. Even for me as a goalkeeper.
  13. Yay! Rick-roll! Rick-roll! Rick-Roll! Catchy tune that!
  14. He spent £60m more gross than Fergie from 04/05-08/09. And £60m less than Chelsea in the same period. If you count in 09/10 as well the figures are £90m more gross than Fergie and £38m less than Chelsea. It's not like he hasn't had money to spend is it? So what? Apples and oranges. In summer 04, Fergie already had a fantastic squad that had won the league the previous season. Rafa had a shit squad full of dross like Diouf and Diao that Houllier had bought. Spurs have spent a similar amount to Liverpool over that period, yet it took us to drop the ball for them to catch us. The thing with Rafa though is that he has continued to buy shit in some cases. And to be fair Spurs have spent more than you over those seasons, but they are on their 4th manager during this period. So, their board has apparently realised that their managers has bought players who weren't up to it. Much the same as what Rafa has done in some cases. I'm sure you understand this. It's the same with Chelsea really, they're on to their 5th manager in the same space of time. If you don't get the adequate results at a big club, you're out. You can bet your bottom dollar that Wenger would've been out on his arse as well if he had a net spend of over £100m with the same results they've had.

  16. Up until the latest accounts he's spent £2M less per year than Chelsea net. From season 04/05 to 08/09. £6M less per year than Man Utd net spend. £13M more than Arsenal net spend. It's not like he hasn't had money to burn.
  17. If that was aimed at me I still think he'd come good. He was a ball-playing cb much in the same vein as Colo. With a brute next to him he would've been good. Not in a Big Sam team though, but in a team where the tactics consists of more than soaking up pressure from the opponents and then kicking long punts forward.
  18. He looks very slight build similar to Rozenhal. Might struggle with the physical nature of the premiership. I honestly think that Rozenhal would've been very good in a settled team even in the premiership.
  19. Looks like you'll need a Swede on your side to counterweight Towelie. I'll cheer for the US, no bother.
  20. Was all over the Scottish Papers during the weekend. Suppose to be three of them in charge, similar to how Hughton/Calderwood/Barron looked after 1st team affairs, can't remember the name of the third guy though. Bit disappointing he's chosen to go, however, if its a step up to 1st team coach its good for his career progression. Johan Mjällby, isn't it?
  21. He will ask for £40k no doubt. He asked for £20k in Jan 2009 when Birmingham (Then in the CCC) agreed a fee with Rangers for him. Birmingham only offered him £12k + £7k per match though. Would probably get him for around £25-30K a week.
  22. to me that reads as all transfer fees up front. Transfer fees will have to be payed either up front or in installments and will have to be concluded one year after the purchase. I thought this was something that the Premier League was incorporating for the coming season.
