Or maybe Darlow just made a error in judgment and went for a ball he shouldn't for the umpteenth time.
-
I'd wholeheartedly go with this if Gayle was fit to start. The team keeps its shape far better with him on the field in addition to the obvious added threat of grabbing a goal against the run of play.
-
'Ridiculous diving header' ffs. Stifler fucking ruined this place when he invited all his friends, like.
-
I've seen a hell of a lot of defenders have an easy time with Mitro. Most of them are bigger, stronger, quicker and smarter, for a start. Let's not pretend he's some colossus that can't be stopped.
-
Howay, Nut. You can guarantee Rafa would've worked on the ball over the top with the defence and the drill would've been, if possible, a header downwards while the keeper holds his position in the centre of the goal no further off his line than necessary. For some reason Darlow's charging out like a bull in spite of the fact it's plainly obvious that Dummett's there to make the header. Same with the Clark OG against QPR. Darlow can see everything yet he's in absolute no man's land, oblivious.

Diame works well with Gayle. That's why the former hasn't produced since returning from Africa.
-
He gets a rush of blood and makes stupid decisions. I've lost count how many goals he's been at fault for since his second half errors away to Forest but he has to be on a last chance now. I'd never want to advocate putting Rob fucking Elliot back in but we can't be literally presenting empty nets every other game.

It didn't click with you when you were responding to posts about putting Elliot back in?

No question. We've drawn 4 games all season and 3 of them have come in the past 4 weeks. Without him our ability to snatch points is basically nonexistent. -
Lots of stories from our preferred media partner about him leaving since the window shut.

You must be on glue. -
99 times out of 100 that header back ends up comfortably in the arms of the keeper but for some reason Darlow's on the corner of his box. Literally nothing to justify him racing out of position, wrong side of the post, off his line and off balance.

You're a disgrace, like. An utterly abysmal poster.

They'd generally beat rubbish like Blackburn, Wolves and Bristol City at home. -
It absolutely was, like. He's horribly out of position, as he was for the Clark OG a few weeks back.

Let's be honest, Carroll was a one-man team in the first half of 10-11. Without that we'd have gone down. Plus, we had a solid, established defence then. No way we can go into a PL season starting the likes of Lascelles. -
Rafa doesn't rate Mbemba. He'll be gone in the summer. Sad, but true.

Correct, we have quite a few good players but just one or two too many liabilities. Are you actually trying to say the majority of our squad are up to PL football? -
As Nut pointed out the other day we've spent next to no dinero on keepers since forever and it shows. We retained all the keepers on our books despite relegation and obviously brought in Sels yet the position has looked an absolute liability for us all season and it's pretty fucking inexcusable. Darlow is generally OK in this division but this is possibly one mistake too many now. We can't be gifting away goals.

There really isn't. We'd go down with less than 30 points with this heap of guff. Why do you keep saying this? It's an absolutely pointless statement. We'd obviously make signings. We should've obviously made signings last month. I've zero confidence in this club to overhaul the squad in ten windows, let alone one. It doesn't need an overhaul though and even if it did, it wouldn't be realistic to expect we'd form a brilliant side. The squad needs significant, intelligent investment in all three areas of the field - but that doesn't mean eleven signings. I agree about January obviously. You're talking shit. We've got, at absolute most, 6 players on our books good enough to start PL football matches. -
He's always going to be 5 games away from form tbh. If his stated role was just to do all the things that he gets praised for on here - holding up, bullying centrebacks, winning 50/50s, bringing teammates into play, etc - then he'd be perfect. To be fair, he's not particularly good in any of those areas. He 'wins' a lot in the air but the ball generally ends up with the opposition. He's absolutely not a lone striker.

Need to somehow get Gayle fully fit for the vast majority of our remaining games and we'll be fine. Without him we've got fuck all up front and I'm extremely concerned about promotion, at best. -
Honestly, if we manage to go up we need an overhaul the likes of which have never been see before.
