Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League
Ronaldo replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
We play better against better teams and we're awful to play against away from home. Can comfortably see us getting 5 points or more from Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading away, especially with Gayle back. -
This basically sums it up for me. Either way it's moot because if the club's moving in the right direction next season he won't be here. Not because he doesn't have good qualities but because he's all wrong for Rafa. He could barely be more wrong.

I think a lone striker having to be removed at HT and replaced with a winger because he's on a yellow card is the absolute definition of a liability, like. Gouffran is a striker he's just never really been played as one for us. Or at least he was bought as one. Yeah, he was replaced by Atsu. I'm starting to think you're a WUM account of someone else now, like. I think I know who, too.
-
We were fucking awful, man.
-
He was on a yellow. There's never any evidence with him that he plays with his head. He's too focused on proving how passionate he is, and when that doesn't work he often dives or pretends to be hurt. Yesterday he put Rafa in a position where he had to take him off. No option but to do that. His only fit striker apart from Murphy and we had to put fucking Gouffran up front for an entire half because Mitrovic can't be relied upon to just play with a bit of nous and restraint.

Striker goes for it nearly every single time the ball is bouncing in between the GK and defender like that, happens in nearly every match at some point. If he had left it, he'd have had people screaming at him for not challenging for the ball and being a lazy cunt. Someone made that daft argument yesterday, too. A grown man can't be risking a sending off half an hour into the game because someone might call him a lazy cunt.

No. To be honest I can't think of a game less likely to finish that way than this one.
-
Pathetic goalkeeping.
-
I think Rafa's days of working at the biggest clubs are done anyway, tbh. Such is the ego of the modern superstar footballer his style will be unpopular wherever he goes where he isn't the biggest person at the club. Liverpool was a partial exception to this. Obviously it's our gain, hopefully.

That's why he posted it.

Yep. Total wrong fit, same as Real.
-
Preferred media partner indeed.

Of course it was the reason, man. But the fact fear that our starting striker wouldn't be able to keep his head for 45 minutes against one of the poorest sides in the division outweighed his value on the pitch having just scored for the first time in ages tells you everything you need to know about the manager's faith in him.
-
He'll never look particularly good against a team who sit deep, man. He's not that type of player. Especially not when Gayle isn't there to create space for him.

Not convinced getting subbed at half time is going to get his confidence up. Reckon he's done here personally. last game, last touch..a goal? Not a chance that was the last time we see him I'm sure we'll see his face again, but before today I didn't think it was a given that his days here were numbered. But I'm not sure there can be more blatant vote of no-confidence from a manager than subbing a player who is struggling for goals, at half time, minutes after he's scored. Was that not just because he was on a card and looking like getting another?

He'll be gone in the summer, like. If Rafa stays that is.

Thank Christ.

Is Cronky your mother?
-
Aren't you the guy who said you wanted us to lose a game 5-0 because Gayle was playing ahead of Mitro? Aye, take no notice of the mong.
-
Still Alan Smith, like. Worst of the worst.
-
Even when we're pretty fucking dreadful we win away from home. Tells you everything you need to know about this demon of a division.
-
Great save, Darlow.

Think we all knew he'd be off, like.
