Simpson's transition has been amazing? He's contributed less than zero going forward and has done OK defensively.

Think it's about £450K.

The second legs of the playoffs always are. Last season's in particular.

Hughton did a job, just like Nolan did a job. Neither belong at a club with any real aspiration.

Turboshite would be your mate, for about 10 seasons I might add.

Sitting by while Lee Dixon shat all over Enrique too. Pathetic.

Overall reflections Looking at what I wanted us to achieve back in August, pretty much all expectations have been met or exceeded. We've avoided the relegation battle, moved in the right direction in terms of evolving the midfield and generated a lot of optmism for next season, which is obviously needed to make SJP a fortress once more. Yet again, the squad has been severely compromised by a horrible January transfer window, and we're about to arrive at a crossroad as a result. Replacing Hughton looks a very good decision. Just hope we can get some magic in the squad, because the spine has revealed itself to be stronger than most. High Moment A fair few actually. Probably the Villa game. Felt like we were a PL team again, and it was nice. It was lovely, truly lovely. Low Moment The sale of Carroll and the gutless defeat to Fulham a couple of days later. Kicked the TV when the final whistle went. Haven't been that angry since the last time we lost 1-0 to those West London c***s. Best Player Comes down to Coloccini or Tiote. Colo just edges it for me. Quite simply the best CB i've seen at the club, and no reason he can get even better as his understanding of the Engish game improves even further. Best Individual Performance Ben Arfa against Everton, Coloccini against Arsenal (a) or Tiote in the same game. Special mention to Nolan for the key goals against Scum. Best Buy Has to be Tiote. It's lovely having a player with rough edges who can dominate a game, mainly because we've had the exact opposite type of players in CM in recent years. He's the player we've needed for close to a decade, and it's absolutely imperative that we keep him. Most Improved Andy Carroll or Leon Best. I'd have said both were Championship strikers before August but both have stepped it up. Carroll's improvement in the most staggering i've ever seen in football tbh. Best looked sharp in pre-season, and carried that into into the PL after his injury.

Good to see Forest failing.

What a waste of a post.

As good as Suarez is, the goals haven't exactly flown in from him either. They'll need to get a few players in to get the best out of the partnership.
-
Shearer obviously thought our biggest weakness was in defence and the goals would come with Owen, Martins and Viduka up front. Which is possibly why he set us up to keep clean sheets first and foremost. Incredibly, he was a pundit 6 months later and still spouting the same crap about our biggest weakness being in defence - with the best defensive record in The Championship. The guy's just completely clueless.
-
Why?, whats he done at management level apart from Twente and a lucky cup win with McBoro? Clueless.
-
News to me, like. He's nothing special at all with the ball at his feet. His athleticism allows him to go forward well, but that's about the extent of it.
-
West Ham are down because they're complete and utter crap. Our story was a little more complicated.
-
Aye, it's completely baffling how a striker with no pace, balance, intelligence or goalscoring threat isn't actually a good player.
-
he's had some bad luck with the timing of injurys in that he's had them when he's been on good runs of form the rest of the time god knows p*ss off. He hasn't looked genuinely like a PL striker in about 5 years. Injuries play a very small part; lack of dedication, focus and talent complete the picture.
-
He was assured that Carroll wouldn't be sold, but he was. It's obvious he doesn't have 100% confidence in what he's being told.
-
If any of the above said no, i'd happily ship them out. What on earth has it got to do with a useless cunt like Ameobi who we bring to the club that he's very, very lucky to be playing for. If it was up to me i'd cancel his contract tomorrow.
-
In fairness, he wasn't great in 06-07 or 07-08. He's improved significantly at Wigan, but the potential was always there.
-
Unless they appoint the creator of the group of lads. Hughton didn't create anything.
-
Defensively they're an absolute disgrace. To think Upson and Green were starting for England in The WC less than a year ago, Capello should be shot.
-
I remember Butt coming out in print and inferring N'Zogbia was one of those who were a problem for Roeder. N'Zogbia basically got Roeder the full-time job with his performances in the spring of 06. Meanwhile Butt was off getting Birmingham relegated. You couldn't make it up.
-
Zola is more culpable tbh. They finished on 35 points last season and really should have gone down with that. His heart's never been at it at WHU, and You could see that from his fourth or fifth game in charge. Got to be said, both time we've played them they've looked absolutely atrocious. They made our job far easier than any side from The Championship last season. Dreadful.

N'Zogbia, man. What a player.
