By a mile the best side i've ever seen. I've actually seen more of Barca than any other side in England or Spain this season (not missed a single game as it happens) and they're simply football at it's most advanced and beautiful simultaneously.
Perhaps the most impressive thing is the risky football they play pressing so high up the field whilst maintaining a fantastic defensive record.
Xavi and Messi are perhaps the greatest players i've had the pleasure to watch regularly.
The reason few regarded Federer as the best of all time was his distinct lack of quality opposition from 03 - 07. You can't apply the same theory to Messi.
Agreed but the crowd getting on his back was self inflicted, people lost patience with him as his mistakes were usually absolute howlers.
He also scored two goals that got us into Europe. And the absuse didn't stop.
I wouldn't have him back now, because he'd never be accepted by the c***s that boo off even our best players.
I wouldn't have let him leave in 07, though. It was stupid of Allardyce, who spend money on far inferior defenders.
Shola's saving grace has been the amount of managers we've had since Sir Bobby. He should have been shipped out long ago. Sadly, no club was stupid enough to pay money for him.
Do you actually watch football?
Not defending Gomes now because dear me that was a rookie mistake. But saying he's an awful keeper when he kept them in the tie against Milan and he has been the best player on the pitch several times.
He's the most inconsistent keeper ever. He's like a rollercoaster, but calling him awful is harsh.
A keeper always liable to make a mistake leading to a goal is awful. He's done it 4 times in the last 5 games.
Last week.
Would you take him? His goal against Wolves was fantastic but I'm not convinced.
Of course I would. We'd finally be able to piss Shola off to Burnley.
