  1. They tried though, unlike, say, us. I thought Hughton was a top, top manager, you can't possibly be suggesting that he got it wrong. Well Pardew actually tried in the FA Cup and still cocked up, so I don't know what that says about him. And what on earth has Pardew got to do with this discussion? Get a life, man. You don't see how he fits into this argument? I think you need a time out. Get yourself down to a League 1 game and see how Carroll is doing... Our prospects in the Carling Cup have nothing to do with Pardew, no matter how hard you pretend he does to compliment your perverted agenda.

    Ryan Taylor

Yup. A lot of people seem to ignore this. No doubt they'll be complaining next season when we have a few injuries. I'm not sure how Ryan Taylor is capable of contributing to squad depth. He's either a RB who's defensively absolutely atrocious or a RW who can't run or beat a man.

  5. Wenger continues to be shown up for the fool he's become. Almunia last Sunday, this Polack joker today.
  6. When we play it out from the back and it works its fine, when it doesn't work we should have hoofed it. I'd love to know how any of our players are supposed to knew if it's going to work or not. We have to either accept that at times it will go wrong or we tell them to hoof it every time and give away possession more often than we currently do. Personally, Im willing to accept that every so often well make a mistake but more often than not it will work to our advantage. Absolutely.
  7. He clearly isn't though. He's average.

What makes you think that? From the club's perspective I mean. We got rid of Routledge, who was probably on far less than Raylor.

The same lot that booed Robert off, no doubt.

    Leon Best

His name was sung for a fair chunk of the second half against Birmingham.
  11. Watching them under Pellegrino was terrific, and they accumulated more points. I know Mou's without Higuain, who's one of my favourite players in world football, but there's no excuse for the dross he's been serving up in recent weeks. Not with that level of attacking talent at his disposal.

He manages to get into goalscoring positions all the time, that's half the battle won.

We have 3 strikers who are far worse in our first team squad.
  14. They played together for almost 2 seasons.
  15. What on earth are you talking about?
  16. Are you just trying to pick an argument? The only way I can make sense of your statement is if I factor in your age: When Woody played for us, you were not old enough to remember and most importantly UNDERSTAND how good Woodgate was. The ONLY reason why Leeds sold Woodgate was because they were knee deep in debt. They HAD to sell. That's why you rate Ferdinand as a better player too, because him you can remember. Ferdinand is a better athlete in the sense that he's not injured all the time. But Woody ON the pitch is all about athleticism. He's unbeatable in the air, a fantastic tackler and fast. The fact that you manage to say that Woody is an inferior athlete (on the pitch) compared to Ferdinand, proves to me that you never saw him play when he was at his best. But what really separates Woody from Ferdinand is the formers coolness even in stressful situations. Ferdinand can loose his head sometimes then, Woody never did. When Woody played, Bramble and O'Brien suddenly took their game to another level. Woody was only 23 when he was with us (1 year younger than you're now) and already then he was a complete defender. How's that for class. That's why Ferdinand ended up at Man U and Woodgate at us, clearly. The bias on here in regard to Woodgate is incredible, frankly, but that part in bold is beyond a joke.
  17. It was one of the most blatant red cards i've ever seen, man.
  18. It's horrible. He's taken them backwards, as a few of us predicted.
  19. In other People/Mirror news: Carroll needs to lose weight and Jonas is off to the richest club on the planet.
  20. Yeah, 5 pounds, what a hugely significant difference that will make to a player of that height and style of play. There's not an ounce of excess fat or muscle on the lad. Absolute load of complete tripe.
  21. Name a better one over the last 8 years. Nesta is the only one who comes close.
  22. Rio was always the better footballer, the better athlete and the more assured tackler. He's been the best defender in the world over the last 8 years or so.
