lots on SMB seem to agree. also they cant need a cover for the fifth choice? strange signing. Taylor and Colo are both better than any centre backs that The Mackams have to offer Mensah is better imo but a sicknote. Taylor has all the attributes to be a good Prem defender but has been prone to the odd clanger in the past. Coloccini was woeful last season most times I saw him. The most important attribute for a defender is a brain.

He'll always score goals, unfortunately.
-
So Sheff utd didn't want him either? This is becoming a little sad tbh.
-
Doesn't mean anything man. So we should sign our players based on their popularity with other clubs? That's great logic. He won't be a world beater but we could do worse. In fact, we already have worse in Butt and Geremi. There's a difference between popularity and looking at his recent record with other clubs.

Having players with genuine pace on the wings and up front always helps.

I fucking hope not.

You're suggesting that we jeopardize promotion just to give the young lads some experience. If they were good enough we'd know it. -
He'll do till we go up. Our 4th choice is Ben Tozer.

Is Lua Lua still failing to perform in the reserves? -
That's a fair point.

I remember that post well because York was pretty much spot on with it. He's a good poster and I didn't expect that rubbish on the other page. Taylor could be an OK central defender in the premiership but has never looked like one to me.
-
Well..... This is about 60% into last season, doesn't appear that you considered him an imposter at that point. Unfortunately, his iffy form in the last 2 months, Shearer dropping him and our relegation has clouded your judgement. Agree with you point on Taylor though.
-
Ha.

Colo has proved over a long period that he's an accomplished defender, Taylor hasn't, yet. Point to one bad season in the premiership for Colo whilst completeing ignoring Taylor's five.
-
A lot of fans are going through tough times with their team and take comfort in the myth that football as a whole is rotten/dying/ruined by the Sky era. It's pathetic tbh.

I'd shift Taylor at full-back if this actually did happen. Then he would give us some extra umph (aye I said that) going forward as well. I'd rather not shift either of our own players to make way for a player just looking to get fit and return to his club. If I was pushed i'd move Colo to RB over Taylor. Taylor is here to stay, Colo is passing through and Taylor doesn't deserve to be moved out of position whatsoever, he's been just as good as Colo this season. Taylor needs settled games in the centre, finally for the first time in his career he's got the same manager for a season (not sure about that but i bet its not far off) and a constant partner. If Colo is staying next season he also needs games till the end of the season to get him ready for next year (if we do go up) so accommodating a player over them would be wrong imo. Plus we've signed Simpson, and same goes to him, he really does need games to get himself up to speed for the next season, regardless of division. Taylor has only ever been consistently good when played at RB.

Newcastle games are obviously an exception. As a viewer, as opposed to a fan, i've seen very, very few i haven't enjoyed.
-
Rampant Sky Sports Soccer Fan Boy. Our game is going tits up man, cant you see this? I've seen about 2 premiership games in the last 17 years that i haven't enjoyed personally.

That was at his peak before all the financial fallout. I know, I was replying to LIIWBU.
-
If we get Perch we've absolutely no need to have Butt in the squad, give him to Hull for free please.
-
Davies is better than Taylor in the centre, that's certainly what i'd do.
-
Good news, another CB not fit for the premiership, well done Bruce.
-
I think it was estimated at about £1.9bn when he first bought the club.
-
We've got 5 defenders in the squad fit for championship football, of course we need another.
