What makes you say that? Carroll's only a better supporting player than Shola if we're playing the long ball, and I absolutely despise that tactic.
-
Loven is prem quality and you know it. Hattricks arent typical of anyone, hes done well near every single game hes played upfront this season. I like Lovenkrands, but i've seen very little from him to suggest that he'd do well for us over the course of 38 games in a premier league season.
-
Because they were BOTH scoring. Play your best team not your best players. If Lovenkrands is scoring hatricks with Carroll as his partner I couldn't care less if Carroll doesn't score, he does his job well which helps Lovenkrands. Ameobi isn't as unselfish. How does he help Lovenkrands? He's a hinderance to team. As is Shola in a supporting role. I think he really benefitted from having Carroll to take the knocks & be the target man for him to play off earlier in the season. Who suggested we play him in a supporting role? Shola is worth having on the pitch because he's a massive goal threat in this league, with or without Carroll, who's bullying style has only contributed to one of his goals anyway.

Who would miss out if Harewood came back? Genuine question. If Harewood comes back or Beckford signs, it's Lovenkrands who makes way. Good championship striker, but tonight isn't typical of him.

Shola and Loven would easily be my pick, from the 4 we have.
-
Because they were BOTH scoring.

You also said Carroll-Lovenkrands wouldn't work didn't you? Seemed alright tonight. They didn't function as a pair at all, just like the Derby game. Lovenkrands got great service and took his chances very well, simple as that.
-
Not trying to be critical for the sake of it but the way we played tonight most certainly wont get the better of Brom on Monday. Nolan looked knackered after 20 minutes and literally couldn't run by the end of the game (Hughton's such a clueless dickhead) and Butt was his usual wasteful self, as for Pancrate. Jonas, Enrique and Loven won us that game tonight.
-
15,850 ish apparently. Where's that lad who spent 15 minutes arguing with me yesterday about Carroll having better control than Lovenkrands, another embarrassing day of me being proved completely wrong eh.
-
Who compared him to Ali Dia? That's all I could think of everytime he got (and lost) the ball.
-
They were both terrible.
-
Neither Colo or Taylor were tested tbh. Colo's touch and composure are absolutely brilliant and the crowd really responsed to that a couple of times, wasn't really visible apart from that.
-
2nd gear all the way tbh. The default was to play the ball back to the defence at the first sign of any pressure and we retained the ball pretty well. Plymouth are absolutely terrible going forward and in defence and i'd expect nowt less than the dicking they got. Lovenkrands had 4 chances and scored 3, looked very sharp and very composed. Carroll had some nice touches but you'd put your house on him not scoring even against the shitest of defenders and it's becoming very tiresome. He had a go at Enrique twice and Nolan once for not picking him out when the reality of the situation is, his shooting is appalling and he's a poor option to give the ball to. Enrique motm behind Loven, him and Jonas linked up well as usual.
-
Jesus man, he looked somewhere between a very poor footballer and a complete fraud tonight.

Krul 7 R Taylor 6 S Taylor 6.5 Coloccini 6.5 Enrique 8 Pancrate 3 Butt 5 Nolan 5 Jonas 7.5 Lovenkrands 8 Carroll 5.5

Absolutely pathetic.
-
According to a lot on this board, he's worse than S Taylor. In which getting him would surely be realistic.
-
Doubt it, most on this board prefer to argue about what they haven't seen for themselves.
-
In an ideal world S Taylor would play RB next season with Coloccini alongside Van Buyten. But Simpson is far, far from the worst RB i've seen at the club, and could do ok in the premiership.
-
20K would be pretty damn good. I shall be going along.
-
Just putting things into perspective, £1.5m seems like a very, very low amount for a 29 year old with such a big reputation.
-
I know, but £1.5m is what Villa want for Harewood.

You make it sound as if they're in crisis like us. They're doing more business than anyone else in La Liga so far this month. Signed Tiago with Eduardo Salvio next.
