We'd struggle to keep clean sheets with that midfield and we wouldn't score goals. We'd finish on 15 points max, which obviously wouldn't be nail biting at all.

No, the midfield and strikers are as bad as each other. We need to buy 2 strikers and 3 midfielders at a minimum, as I said.

I don't see it as replacing Lovenkrands because he isn't even a starting player in the championship. The mere suggestion of him being in a first choice premiership Xl is beyond absurd. To be fair to Lovenkrands, he managed 3 premiership goals in the time than Owen managed none. Still not good enough though.

He's very limited going forward but a fairly important part of the best defence in the Championship.

Lovenkrands is as bad a premiership striker as Nolan and Smith are premiership midfielders.

I thought Lovenkrands could be a useful player in this divison and he might be. But the fact is, he's a shambolic footballer and if pace is all you need to be a striker, we can do an awful lot better for under £2M.
