  1. He had a few words for the midfield towards the end of the night like, which was somewhat encouraging. Looked pretty tentative up until that point Blackburn pal of mine said he was their best player towards the end of last season
  2. How'dyou work that out then? He was good against WBA and Reading and merited a palce in the side, especially if Guthrie wasn't 100% fit. We all know you hate Hughton for some bizarre reason, but expecting him to pre-judge the events of the match before he picks the team is a bit much like - you've got to admit. I was putting words in Obama's mouth

    Shola Ameobi

Shearer did that around 2003 I think
  4. that's basically what we said last season about last season's team (around this time too)
  5. It's a rubbish song anyway, rather not sing it at all. Where the fuck is the Jonas song? it's absolutely brilliant
  6. Shola's fitness is pretty poor tbh, he always fades badly in the last 20 minutes. Btw, has ever started a game and scored in the last 10 minutes? I bet it hasn't happened much

    Steve Harper

perhaps, but he got down quickly and held onto it. And won us 2 points
  8. where were you sitting? Sounds like you didn't have the best view of Xisco Slap bang behind the Gallowgate goal 2 rows up, so your point has validity. He just looked slow to me at times, on the ball at least, the dummy for him and shola was magic however, I just hope he's still got the desire to play. well I was exactly where you were but 3 rows up from the pitch, and couldn't tell what was a 50-50 and what wasn't tbh

    RIP sale thread.

the bottom line is, Shearer WAS there, apparently
  10. Ronaldo

    Steve Harper

both were very fine saves tbh. If Given had made them you know fine well that tomorrow's chronicle would have a pull-out supplement on him
  11. Ronaldo

    Steve Harper

I'm still confused as to why anyone would wish Steve Harper away. That would leave us with ONE goalkeeper with first team (135 minutes) experience
  12. So he becomes slow and heavy like Shola? Shola has always been very, very slow. Carroll is also naturally slow and adding muscle wont help his endurance but probably will help him over 10 yards
  13. Ronaldo

    RIP sale thread.

Moat no longer floats my Boat :-[

    Steve Harper

You said you wanted someone to buy Harper, which is obviously the last thing we need
  15. where were you sitting? Sounds like you didn't have the best view of Xisco
  16. Without Barton we had no intention to play football and anyone who thinks Alan Smith is any sort of answer needs a talking to. We simply must buy a winger in order to let Barton and Guthrie shine.
  17. How many times was he given the ball to feet? We should never have bough a Spainsh striker if the intention was to play stupid long balls, but that's another arguement
  18. at 20 a striker should be able to at least look dangerous man. Like there's some remote chance of scoring a goal. He works hard and is good in the air but i'm perplexed as to why he's been identified as a striker
  19. 'You wouldn't find Hitler playing jungle music at 3 o'clock in the morning'
  20. Harper Simpson Taylor Coloccini Enrique Guthrie Barton Smith Jonas Xisco Shola 1-1
  21. Carroll doesn't look dangerous to me in the slightest And Colocinni looks a liability. not to me he doesn't. He looks slow and like he's finding his feet at times but far from a liability BTW: love the fact you spell Coloccini differently in consecutive posts
  22. Neither one has impressed but Colo to be fair has done his job decently imo. Carroll doesn't look dangerous to me in the slightest
