It was 12 goals and 21 assists he got that season. Absolute legend

viana v wolves, afta tht stinker in marseille yep, everyone got it that day

I dont know how much of this thread you've read but I made it quite clear that I think Ameobi is a waste of space and very much surplus to requirements. Stop diving in with two feet. If the club had told Ameobi he wouldn't be a part of their plans this season he would have left, i'm sure of it. But I think there's been a lot of indecision behind the scenes and as a result we're left with 2 donkeys

next Huckerbee tbh. No doubt a goal at Kingston Park will be dragged up by ESPN as the greatest of all time in 5 years time
-
na, he's not moved because someone within our hierarchy in unable to go out there and find a replacement. Roeder was on Sky Sports news the other day and said the club won't mind people knowing they've put Shola up for sale but Norwich can't afford him. He could have gone to Stoke but turned them down, Ipswich were in for him and said they never heard back from his agent. He's here to sit on the final year of his contract. If someone had told him he was surplus to requirements he would have left, no doubt in my mind

Get away aye, no fucking chance

Wtf? First of all, it was well documented that several clubs have had offers for Shola accepted, but he simply won't budge - how's that our fault? As for Smith... erm, who the f*** has made an offer for him then? So it's the board's fault for: 1, not being able to change free will of a human being. and 2, not making other clubs bid for our players. being on first name terms with Shola for a while I know that if the guy knew he wasn't wanted he'd fuck off, no question. No way he'd drag his heels unless convinced he had a job to do here. As for Smith, he's ex Man U, played for England as recently as last season, you dont think if we made him available teams wouldn't bite?
-
If there are, then why haven't they? If they show a genuine interest then I don't see why the board wouldn't engage in discussions over a potential sale. Don't see how it's the board's fault. But then some people will try and blame them for everything and anything. come on, you cant tell me that teams out there wouldn't pay at least a couple of million for those two. I just believe we've written off our striking options as adequate and left it at that, hoping that Owen and Viduka stay fit and Smith/Ameobi stop pretending to be footballers
-
I'm not blaming the board for the fact we have obsolete striking options. I'm blaming them because we've had all summer to sort it out and it hasn't been, simple as that. There are teams out there who would pay £3m for Shola and there are teams out there who'd pay a similar amount for Smith

They're both still burning a huge hole in our resources. I know that, but all the same we've had 2 months to sort the problem and here we are still with it. And it's a bloody serious one What if the budget isn't there? Why isn't it there? We've got a small enough squad! Speculate to accumulate. We've got a small squad but up front we're well stocked, you can't go adding extra strikers to make up the numbers when you've already got 6 of them that featured last season still here. we're nowhere near well stocked. On the balance sheet yes, perhaps. On the pitch we have ONE, ONE ffs who we can rely on to be fit and perform We've got 6 strikers on our books, you can't just keep adding more without getting rid of the s*** and all the crying in the World won't change that. Right , so you need 4 players. You have 1 who is generally fit and performs well, 2 that peform well but cannot be relied on to be available, and 2 that cannot be considered adequate players for that role. You're still nowhere near having the 4 players you need. As Shearergol said, that's why you cant run a football club like a business and why you can view players like assets

If there isn't enough funds for a new striker when we only have ONE we can rely on to be fit and perform then Mr Ashley has no business owning this club tbh. I'm 100% convinced there is funds, a half-decent striker from the continent could cost as little as £2m. And I'm sure we'll get one before sep 1st, but why leave it that long is beyond me, amateurs tbh If they're amateurs who are paid to do that role, where does that leave us numpties who post on message boards? who knows, the ones who have to suffer their mistakes

Owen, Viduka and Martins are the only strikers we have. Two of which are injury prone. Smith and Shola cannot be considered strikers. That suggests to me that we should already have a new striker in the squad
-
fucking disgrace if only Martins and Smith are fit for Man U The club have been aware of Viduka's problems since May and Owen is always going to be a doubt, why we dont already have a striker in the bag is beyond me. Alan fucking Smith up front, fucking idiots
-
i think they are, moyes is complaining about not getting transfer targets, so they could be stupid enough (erm wise enough....) Everton will literally become my second team if they take this piece of shit footballer from nufc
-
looks quality this lad, if 2 games are anything to go on. younger than N'zgobia and looks very assured, hopefully he'll succeed where Taylor seems to be failing

I remember watching that game in Leeds and celebrating after the final whistle because they showed the league table and we were top. Hence lots of singing from myself and lots of confused and disgusted looks
