My attitude is we’re capable of more. If you want to see that as negative, that’s on you dude.
-
Such a defeatist, negative attitude. We had CL football to offer but have no chance of buying proven top players?
-
Well yeah, that’s the question I’m asking.
-
I’ve said, multiple times, that there’s far more to be positive about than negative but saying ‘great point, we go again’ is worthless. My honest opinion is that the transfer window has seen our competitors make far, far better decisions than us that go beyond budget constraints, and that we’re owned by people who rightly or wrongly want immediate tangible results when they spend money.

He’s fucked and can’t be blamed for it. He’s 33 and playing far too much football.
-
I did look. You’re making things up.

The fact we have a significantly more congested schedule this season and needed players the manager could trust to play?
-
Sorry, I don’t agree we have. I see a good side that hasn’t been improved by the money spent.
-
I really didn’t go on about it religiously and I defy you to prove me wrong. I mentioned it was odd that we did that without a replacement. Bottom line, we’ve lost a lot of ground on our competitors and as much as I’d like to be positive I think not signing JM, in particular, and wasting so much of the budget is a sliding doors moment and will be scrutinised by the owner when he asks why we’ve gone backwards at the end of the season.
-
They’re not trusted as backup though. If ever there was a time to use backup it was that second half. And we simply didn’t have the budget / latitude to prioritise the future over what we needed not to go backwards with our competitors all making their starting Xls far better.
-
Who signed Hall and Liv? They were either signed for the future or signed by someone else. Either way it’s not what was needed.
-
Not really sure who’s even been close tbh.
-
It is pretty bizarre mind. Clearly neither of them are trusted to get minutes which makes it all the more baffling. Dan Burn still playing every minute of every game.
-
Anyone got a means of watching this? In the States and really struggling. Cheers

2 keepers, effectively 5-6 full backs and Willock.

He’s been done at top level for half a decade. I understand him being decent for morale or whatever behind the scenes but I’m uncomfortable with him having the place in the squad he does and have been for a while. Surely personalities worth listening to don’t spend year after year warming benches into retirement instead of playing football?

I think I’d genuinely lose a lot of respect for Howe were he to start Ritchie in a PL game. He won’t, of course. He knows Ritchie’s completely done at anything approaching a competitive level.
-
It will be explored yes. I’d be surprised if someone on our side doesn’t lose their job over it should there be no legal case to answer.

Currently reading a book about LIV golf. Has a lot of anecdotes and info about H.E. Al-Rumayyan. A very ruthless man it seems who is scrutinised by those above him in Saudi to the point he has to be very mindful of his mobile devices. Seems like he won’t think twice about firing someone there’s any hint of failure in the numbers.
-
Everyone pretty much sits deep against them though, and they still win all the time.
-
Don’t agree with this mind. Neither of them play well in isolation but which strikers do in 2023? Didier Drogba is the only PL striker I can think of that genuinely looked a massive and consistent threat when receiving the ball nowhere near a teammate. Wilson is a poacher as Kanji says. He doesn’t contribute to build up play other than being there to put pressure on and do the basics right. Isak is an incredible footballer that will score as many as Wilson given the same chances in addition to working the channels and coming short to greater effect. All about getting a no.10 type midfielder and RW to both take the pressing strain off him and get the best out of his ludicrous talent.
-
Well no, I didn’t say that. I said he generally doesn’t offer anything against a low block and I stand by it. Who in their right mind wouldn’t at least partially agree with that? The vast majority of my posts in the past 2 years have been positive; love our team, Howe and the direction if the club. I was 5 when Keegan got the job here. Move on.
