He's certainly contributing defensively this season and fair play to him but overall not in the way I want from a central midfielder. He isn't my type of player and never will be, so get over it. I grew up watching footballers play there. Rob Lee, Hamann, Speed and Dyer. I want players in there who drive the team forward and support the attack when possible. In fairness to Cheick, his weaknesses aren't exactly negated by the rest of the midfield who create fuck all, with the occasional exception of Cabaye.

For the record I don't especially like any of our CBs. MYM could turn out a bit special but he needs a far better partner than anything we can provide.

He's not like, and I don't exactly rate Williamson. Taylor is a moderately better "footballer" but a horrible defender; aside from being full-blooded he's worse than Williamson in virtually every single aspect of defending. Completely disagree. Taylor's better physically, in the air and in the tackle. He's braver too.

Utter nonsense. Gouffran's weaknesses have been apparent since he signed, and he's come on a tonne in terms of his reading of the PL. Still not up to it as a wide player, though.
