He is the problem. He's the worst symptom of the problem.

La Liga is played at a good, offensive pace with plenty of quality throughout. You can't say the same about Ligue 1.

Would we have paid the going rate for those players? Certainly not for Downing or Carroll (pre-West Ham) and I don't think we'd have dropped the 12mil on Sturridge either. Clyne I'll grant you, as we were damn close a couple seasons ago apparently. Perhaps Lallana after the 11/12 season and Shawcross back in 07/08. No guarantee they'd have turned out as well as they did though. No, we wouldn't, because we buy cheaper players a league totally different to the one we compete in.
  4. The debacle from November through January last season didn't shift him, losing the next three certainly won't. If we're in the relegation zone in November after narrowly avoiding the drop last season he'll go.

The ball was played to his feet plenty. He made a mess of it every single time almost.

Adam Lallana, Clyne, Shawcross, Sturridge, Bent, Carroll and, god help me, Downing. All players we've been linked with in the past 3 years who'd either start for us or fill a valuable place in the squad. None of them particularly expensive apart from Sturridge.

He was absolutely shite, man. But yes, RW is his position. Centrally, and I've said this for 2 years and I'm sick of saying it, he's absolutely awful.

I don't see any very good attackers of the ball in our squad. Steven Taylor's probably the best at it but he's usually injured.
  9. Part of me hopes we lost every single one of those games 0-6. Might just save us.

Exactly. That whole argument is nonsense, imo. They're professional footballers and understand the gravitas of a rivalry, regardless of where they come from - even if they don't feel it in the same way that we do. The players have been infected with a negative attitude from the manager, ever since we lost 4-0 at Wigan. It doesn't absolve a lack of heart from certain individuals, but the manager is chiefly responsible in this situation. Just about every side who've done anything in the PL have had a spine of British players. Not disputing that. I'm not talking about winning the league. I'm talking about not having a negative approach to individual football matches. I'm not talking about winning the league either, tbh.

 aye, i'd much rather watch the current lot over those legendary teams. You've been after "those certain posters" all day long. We all support the same club ffs. I'd far rather have our squad over the course of a season than the mackems'. It's been a couple of humiliating defeats no doubt, but nothing that can't be squarely blamed on the manager and his obvious bravery. British blood and thunder Pards. We all know (the 3 or 4 forum WUMs/idiots notwithstanding) that the manager is totally out of his depth. It doesn't excuse the lack of fight shown by the players for the past year or so.

Consistently reaching the quarter finals? Hardly an achievement. Who the fuck said it was?

  15. With respect, stick to what you know. Liverpool fans have a tribal mentality, our lot generally eat shit for a living. What do you mean by eat shit for a living and how is that mutually exclusive with tribal mentality? They see themselves as a deserving entity and when wronged they'll do whatever they must as group to remedy it. Our lot just accept and keep going.

I'd rather have Kinnear any day of the week. It's one cunt down, two to go.

Here they come, the 'British Clogger' brigade. Thank fuck I don't have to watch Keegan and Bobby's British cloggers any longer.

They get away with murder, like. Gutless. Absolutely fucking gutless, but what can you expect from players nobody else (worth mentioning) wants who've been poached from a Mickey Mouse league with the incentive of less tax to pay.

  20. Perhaps if we, you know, stopped going to games instead of asking him for a wave, shirtless. I said I wouldn't go back till he'd gone after the 3-0. It's been tough (rarely) but I've managed it. Everyone should do the same. Stop supporting what spits at you in the face.
  21. It's an own goal this, like. A lot of mongs actually go along with whatever the Chronicle print and up till now it's been mostly in defence of Pardew and others.
  22. Can I urge everyone to ignore Ian and stop facilitating his efforts to ruin the forum. Bad enough that people like him pollute St James'.

Lee Ryder will still be licking hoop, don't you worry.

Gutless. More bad games than good for us, even if there are a laundry list of mitigating circumstances.
