I think when Santon learns the game a bit more he'll be great. His lack of improvement in the last year has been a little worrying but that'll be remedied when we get a proper leader next to him.

Haidara displace Santon. That'll be the day. Santon may get injured, rested, move back to Italy, but it'll take a far stupider manager than Pardew to take him out permanently for Haidara.

Santon's 22 until next month. Haidara's 21. Almost as if Merlin has altered the facts to suit his point. Unusual tactic for him.

All I will say is, I wish we could've brought in someone more solid defensively who could cope with Hatem in front of him. I know we've done well recently but we'll lose a lot points this season if Hatem's sitting on the bench when we need him out there getting us out of trouble.
