i'd be happier with Hughes taking over than i would be with Redknapp coming in

just seen this one Footy365...not very reliable i know, but i fairly bored at work so am reading anything i can find: IDEAS ABOVE HIS STATION Here's number 36,748 on the list of more proof that football has gone utterly bonkers. The Sun reports that Lassana Diarra's move from Arsenal to Newcastle collapsed after the delusional, and deeply average midfielder asked for a whopping £90,000 a week. This is the same Diarra who has not managed to hold down a place at either of the clubs he has played for in England, and he (reportedly) thinks he's worth £90,000 a week. This country... http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8671_3038163,00.html

thought it was Redknapp. i stand corrected....he was Perrin's first signing.

don't see what the bloke's done to warrent being chased with this tenacity by Ashley (assuming all the shit-rag newpapers are speaking the truth) or to warrent the financial package that's being rumoured. he's an ok manager who's been accused of dodgy dealings, got southampton relegated then pissed off back to portsmouth. so loyalty's not exactly a high priority for him. plus, as Toon4life says, he bloody bought O'Brien and Faye!
-
they've got Alan Oliver on Radio 4 at the moment discussing whether Redknapp will take charge... his statement is full of "we understand", "we think"...and that the signing of Redknapp is 'past the post' (which is the first time i've heard that expression) basically he hasn't got a clue and is making it up as he goes along

i'd be completely underwhelmed if it was redknapp. he's an ok manager, nothing special. another version of Allardyce who plays a bit more of an attacking style of football.

SHOCKED MARTINS BACKS BIG AL Obafemi Martins is eager for the Newcastle board to bring Alan Shearer back to the club. The Nigerian striker spoke of his surprise at the sudden departure of Sam Allardyce but suggests Shearer could be the man to take the club forward. Speaking to Setanta Sports, Martins said: "I'm surprised that Sam has left the club. "Alan Shearer knows the club perfectly. "I believe he could be a good coach for Newcastle, but that decision is up to the board and as players there is little we can influence." While Shearer was inevitably the first name on many peoples' lips, he has since attempted to distance himself from the postition. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_3036892,00.html Maybe Martins means he wants Shearer back as attacking coach to teach him how to get a shot on sodding target

wish the fucking BBC would stop rabbiting on about Shearer and that he's the 'fan's choice'. would be happy with Hughes. although don't know why the hell he'd come to Newcastle
-
if it's fuckin MacClown i'll fuckin go and support Amble Town.
-
voted for : Given. Beye, Faye, N'Zogbia, Owen & Martins. the couple of times i've seen Enrique play he looks good, but would need to see him a consistent run of games
-
sounds ok to me. not loud, but by no means a dead atmosphere

couldn't hit a barn door at 2 yards
-
been playing well, but as usual the decisions are going against Newcastle. takes the piss....
-
only change is Viduka for Smith according to 5Live
-
reckon it'll be a draw and Allardyce will say that his tactics are working...then we'll get humiliated in the next game and then whupped by Stoke in the FA Cup.
-
would go with this.
-
Bet it doesnt get the slightest mention in the national press got mentioned on the BBC report
-
aye, that's the one.
-
Taylor's supposed to be back from injury, so at least Beye would be moved back to RB. Carr's contract's up this summer isn't it? hopefully they'll get rid of the useless muppet.
-
i canna see Pompey selling him unless it was for an inflated price. unless they'd consider doing a swap with Babayaro.
-
read in the paper this morning that Carr's injured again and is doubtful..comeback lasted long, didn't it.
-
nope, originally from Amble.
