  1. i canna imagine Wigan letting him go for £5million. they'd surely hold out for a lot more. then again, if the takeover goes ahead and this bloke plows money in then i'm assuming Newcastle could afford it.
  2. which papers are carrying this story ?? it's on the bbc website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/6649095.stm dunno which papers are running the story.
  3. Billy Jones. according to this, he can play almost anywhere. is a quality defender and is transferlisted as he doesn't want a new contract. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Jones_%28footballer_born_1987%29
  4. I think the one up earlier had less conclusive language, like, "newcastle are linked with allerdyce" yeah, i think they're just updating the same article.
  5. aye, listening to it now and they've got a reporter outside St James'. They've said that he's going to take up the post later.
  6. just said that Allardyce has been appointed Newcastle manager to take up the post later in the week.
  7. Not to my knowledge, at least...curiouser and curiouser... nah, he didn't. just refused to give any interviews to the BBC. not a big loss.....
  8. in the transfer rumours on footy365, a paltry figure of £3million was mentioned for N'Zogbia moving to Arsenal. if he does go (and i really hope he doesn;t) i would hope that they could get a hell of a lot more that £3million!
  9. just said on 5Live that the loss is around £6 Million.
  10. i actually work for them so i'll see if i can dig anything out as to what will be on.
  11. Curling, Rugby, Match of the Day, Horse racing..i think that's still on. ......lap dancing competition with Gaby Logan ...mmmmmm...
  12. means more time spent at the pub watcing the footy... reckon it's a cost saving exercise by the BBC, cut the funding for that to invest in more top quality programs like Eastenders mackems.gif...and BBC3 (waste of space that channel).
  13. Ramage is available for selection.....i feel so much happier..... . anyone feel that he'll slot straight back in at LB? http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_2026266,00.html
  14. i deal with it by getting hammered on red wine now..in previous years i've battered doors of their hinges and thrown a radio out of a 10 storey window when Newcastle have lost so pathetically...
  15. Look on the bright side....Goodfellas is on in half an hour
  16. couldn't stand smug Liverpool fans again if they won - hate Chelsea, hate Manure. in fact the only other english club i do want to do well is Arsenal, and that's because 90% of me mates in London are Gooners.

it would be xenophobia rather than racism, wouldn't it?

    Central defence

Taylor/ Gooch. although Bramble did have a good couple of games, me housemate pointed out to me last night that it could be just that Bramble has found the level of football in which he appears good....playing against a belgium side that consists of some part-timers. but i agree with the previous comments about Roeder not wanting to drop anyone to keep them happy and so the back 4 will more than likely be: Solano - Bramble - Gooch - Taylor. on a side note, anyone know if Bramble's been offered a contract extension? it was mentioned during the transfer window but i've heard bugger-all since. i'm hoping he hasn't.

    Hugo Viana

Ronaldo Tells Team-Mates He Wants To Leave ManYoo Former Newcastle winger Hugo Viana has made his first notable impression on English football by announcing that his good mate Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave ManYoo this summer for Spain. And as he says, "Everyone knows if teams like Barca and Real Madrid want a player, they end up signing him." taken from Footy365. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_1915592,00.html gave me a laugh first thing this morning. probably becuase i haven't had enough coffee yet.
  20. Taken from physioroom.com i know it's nothing new being top of the injury table, but it looks as though a fair few of the injuries will be sorted over the next few days and weeks (i know in Carr's case this is a bad thing) so may actually have some squad depth and experienced players for the tail end of the season and for the UEFA games. ...although fully expect Babayaro to be crocked with 2 minutes of being declared fit so he can go back to lounging around his house. 21. more defenders bought by other teams: http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_1873093,00.html other teams are strengthening the side and Roeder seems to be just pissing about. i'm waiting for him to come out with 'Well Titus has signed an extension on his contract so that's like a new signing'.
  22. i see what you did there...very clever...
  23. Although no worse than the lightweight foreign imports playing alongside them, Danny Guthrie, Lee Peltier and Stephen Warnock failed to impress on a night which cried out for such second- stringers to strut their stuff - not to mention impress watching managers seeking to work the loan system during this month's transfer window. Glenn Roeder, for instance, had presumably made the long drive from Newcastle to identify such a potential acquistion. Roeder may have had his eye on Warnock, Liverpool's left-back. If so, it might explain why he looked rather pale as he left his seat at the interval, by which time Warnock's part in Liverpool's collapse possibly had Newcastle's manager wondering if even Albert Luque might be a better alternative to Celestine Babayaro. admittedly Warnock had a piss-poor game, but making out Luque would better at LB?....pretty harsh... full article: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/01/10/battered_bruised_and_soundly_b.html
  24. got a smoggie mate of mine who works there for News Interactive seems to be a fair few smoggies, geordies and even one or two mackams who, for some reason have been let out of sunderland, working around here. LOADS of Geordies and people from the North East work in the London Media, mostly the creative side though yeah, there's a fair few. i keep telling me mates down here that it's all part of the master plan to colonise the south-east and start off the geordie/ northumbrian world domination plan also means that i can talk complete crap to the southerners and they just nod and smile pretending thay can understand me....means i can get away with murder.
