Not sure about that like. It seems that without Carroll to aim for, Barton's early crosses are now largely ineffective. Leaving Jonas as the only direct threat from midfield. We must have some kind of alternative for next season. Should be looking at another Ben Arfa basically A young, flair player with pace and ideally versatility (so that he can fill up at ST or LB for example). Bryan Ruiz, Gervinho, Piatti, Guardado, Coentrao.. someone of that calibre. Sadly I just can't see us paying the going rate for those players.

fuuuck that shit.. back to work then
-
Ameobi and Lovenkrands are simply taking the piss.. one good game in five is not good enough you wankers
-
ffs get it together lads! or are we just gifting them the points cause they're the legendary Liverpool.. very poor so far
-
Carroll is not playing I assume?
-
won't be too tasty if his replacement is Konchesky
-
Can't believe people would have him here again.. loan or not. Is it because of the rushed volley attempt vs Man U? or that time vs Blackpool where he raced through the middle and made the wrong pass? Ireland epitomises everything that we should avoid in a player. Awfully injury prone, can't fit into our formation, huge salary and his best form was 4 years ago.. Sure, let's sell Jose so that we can afford to pay 50k to this waster
-
He won't be cheap though.. in terms of salary at least
-
Good, I feared Pardew might waste 2-3 million on him in the summer.. Send him back to Villa and let's forget all about this wreck..
-
So only change Nolan in for Guthrie.. Can see us being complacent in this one.. Hope I'm wrong, scoring early would make the job a lot easier for us.
-
nah man.. I'm not sure of Doyle's consistency but he's a pretty good all-round striker with a very good workrate. Good foil for more attack minded strikers like Best and Ameobi who, like it or not, will continue to play a major role next season. Still, wouldn't pay more than 2mil like and if we're signing somebody for Wolves, I'd prefer Ebanks-Blake or Fletcher.. and all three would be too expensive
-
I actually rate Doyle, he can be a good partner for Best or Ameobi, but surely we can do better for the amount he'd cost.

A priority? Pardew prioritised it this season too.. We've seen how far that took us

We have only had an "average" injury list this season according to Toons Taylor the other day.Our injury list this season is beyond ridiculous,an absolute joke to be honest. It's no worse than ours. Your best players are Barton,Nolan,Enrique and Coloccini, how long have they been out with injuries this season? I'd say you have been very fortunate injury wise this season. You should at least try admitting it to yourself in private man. The injury situation is nothing but a convenient excuse for Bruce. I've seen enough of your games to notice how the players brick it when the going gets tough. Injuries have been a contributing factor but the real problems are lack of quality, character and determination in the squad (and in the manager) / half the first team being composed of loan players who probably don't give a s*** where you'll play next season / relying majorly on one striker who is obviously unsuited to anything other than pointless tricky touches around the box etc.. But go on, tell us about the injuries. I just hope that Quinn has the same mindset, cause I know where you'll finish next season if there isn't a major overhaul this summer..

THIS! That's not true though

He's living in a fantasy world. What's so fantastic about the idea of hanging on to one of the better strikers in the world?? If we're so desperate for cost-cutting, maybe the attention should be at Alan fucking Smith and Ryan Taylor's wages - that's 80k or whatever for two players who have never performed for us.
-
I'm thoroughly confused. They could have offered the full 50, I'd still have told them to f*** off.
-
Just saw his goals last night. FML Why did you leave Andy?? WHYYYYYY?

There's no excuse for Ashley to not throw the money at Jose like..apart from greed, that is.. - He is one of the best players in the league at his position. Defensively, he's the best. - Still young and doesn't miss many games through injuries/suspensions - He's a consistent performer and apparently a highly professional individual Imo, his performances have earned him the right to be the best-paid player at the club. If Ashley is unwilling to award the qualities mentioned above with more than, say 60k/w, then where are we going? Where we heading man? How can we compete with the LEGENDARY Liverpool or are we just accepting that Newcastle will forever be inferior, just because they won some trophies 30 years ago or because they have some Russian/Arab thug running them. My stance on the Carroll situation was similar - we should've kept him at any cost - a new contract on 80k/w and a yacht or whatever for his agent is justified, if it means our strike force is sorted for the next five years with this avatar-like fucker..

Just sitting here, wondering.. why are we even allowed to compete in the same division as the LEGENDARY LIVERPOOL. Evidently they're so far ahead of us, we might as well stay stay home on the 1st of May.. yeah, Kevin.. NOBODY can reject the GLORIOUS KOP, KING KENNY and THE BEST FANS OF THE WORLD.. Doesn't matter if they sing only at the beginning and endings of the games.. after all the spirit of Shankly channels through each and every one of the scouse fuckers. Good luck Jose, enjoy the silence!
