I don't buy this whole experienced pro/honest guy bullshit. Smith has always been a fraud on the pitch, the same way Duff and Butt were. He seemed happy to settle for below-par performances from the start. I can count his decent performances on one hand.. Surely if he was so damn professional about it, we would've seen some sort of an improvement in his performances over the last 4 years (!) instead of being a total liability every single time he steps foot on a pitch. Good riddance to the money-grabbing cunt..

I've always had the feeling he'll end up here at some point. Berbatov is good when he feels like it but he lacks determination and he's very prone to sulking when shit goes pear-shaped. A lot better than our other options like but I'd stay clear unless we get him for reasonable money.

If he's free AND if Joey goes this window.. They are pretty similar in the sense that both can't beat a full back and their wing play relies heavily on early crosses. Getting Larsson would mean that we have enough depth but no versatility in our attacking play down the right.

I honestly fail to see him as an improvement on Hughton.. in any way. That's not to say that Pardew has done badly though. Tactically, Hughton incorporated the players in a system that worked to their strengths - especially Barton, Carroll and Nolan's roles.. He had his faults tactically but so does Pardew - the bizarre 5-3-2, playing with two RBs at the same time, goals conceded in the end of games being the most obvious ones. I'm far from being convinced by Pardew. He says the right things, the team usually seem motivated but I can't help but feel he's a bit of a bullshitter

Should be avoided at all cost. Especially more than 2-3mil.. Cole is identical to Shola in terms of his mentality/confidence/determination and it would make no sense to bring in another notorious under-performer.. unless we're planning on getting rid of Lovenkrands/Ranger which is not very likely..
