  1. Jose would destroy the Championship. If we can keep him our defence is shaping up to be pure class.
  2. As if we weren't already sure. Sorry to have offended you with my unnecessary post my lord. I'll try to do better in future.
  3. If Ashley doesn't give Shearer what he wants then he really is a complete idiot.
  4. Oooohh I would love that so much. A young side that shows a bit of belief, that actually goes out on the attack looking to win games. A midfield that can actually create something!
  5. Since when were Barca ever cash strapped?
  6. That's lifted my mood about our club a bit, sounds like we could have a decent squad without a mass influx of new players in a few years.
  7. There was an article posted in a thread about British players playing abroad, and it made the point that why would he want to play for Blackburn, when he's winning trophies and living a great medeterrainien lifestyle in Greece.
  8. ANNOUNCE SOMETHING! The wait is killing me, so much uncertaintey.
  9. What does that even mean? He wants Ashley's helicopter? Wants to shag his wife every fortnight? A manager only wants total control over team affairs. And as a board if you can't give that, you shouldn't be in the business. I mean in terms of transfer budget, maybe Shearer is asking for a lot more than Fat Mike can afford. I'm not disputing that Shearer should have complete control over all footballing matters.
  10. Maybe Shearer is asking for a bit too much? I know we all want him to have total control, but we don't know how much he's demanding. Maybe more than is even reasonable for Ashley to give.
  11. Are these guys kitchen staff or something? Riera was once of Barcelona. Mixed reaction from Sunderland fans some say he was the quality they needed and should have been played others say he was a shit foreign import. So their Xisco?
  12. As an attacking midfielder it doesn't matter how much you run around, if you cannot cross, cannot set up goals and cannot score you might as well not be there. Fine, but that isn't the idea of the topic. Jonas put the effort in, regardless of whether he was good enough or not.
  13. Because all of those sides are seen to be as good as chelsea arent they. Not talking different standards of opposition or anything. More a matter of whether or not teams set up to cancel out Barca and have no attacking intent of their own (aka teams that are too shit scared of Barca to venture out of their own half).
  14. Yep, thinking someone like Beckham, who's main strength is techniqle (can't spell, screw it), so can play for a long long time despite losing physical attributes.
  15. It's very easy to have a second team when you use that critieria though. What sickens me is people actually being proud of it Sickens you? Have a word man. Second teams are essentially teams you don't really love and support, but just love to watch. Believe it or not, teams that play beautiful football are often successful. Messi clearly doesn't just love to watch Barca though. There's an awful lot of people in this country with Man U as their second team, and yes it sickens me, it's absolutely f***ing pathetic I think you're giving the term 'second team' just a little bit too much of a weight. It merely means a team that you enjoy watching surely? Mine has been Arsenal for years, if they were shit they wouldn't be my second team, and its as fleeting as that because I have no affection or love for them at all, I just love the way they play football. This. Sums up what a second team is exactly.

There's an awful lot of people in this country with Man U as their second team, and yes it sickens me, it's absolutely fucking pathetic For a minute there I was trying to figure out why you were angry that Lionel Messi supports Barca then. But I think Messi (the poster) has reasons for supporting Barca other than just because they're a good team, although I don't know as I've never asked him about it.

  18. Anyone taking offence at people having "2nd teams", go fuck yourself. When a team like Barca play football as beautifully as they do, I have no worries admitting that I love watching them play, and would love to see them win everything they can. If that isn't the idea of having a 2nd team then I don't know what is. Regardless of how much I like Barca however, a team I like for their good looking football, it can't compare to supporting Newcastle, because no matter how shite we are, I'll still love this club.
  19. This. Whilst Barca already had the great team, Guardiola made them play for the club like they hadn't before. I think Shearer could do the same for us.
