Antonio 'Antoñito' Cordero - To Sign on 1st July from Malaga (Official)
Elliottman replied to SUPERTOON's topic in Football
Newcastle are set to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid to the signing of Malaga winger Antonio Cordero. Mail Sport understands the 18-year-old and his representatives have now held talks with sporting director Paul Mitchell after visiting Tyneside. Advertisement And there is fresh confidence that will see the Magpies seal the deal by agreeing a pre-contract agreement with Cordero, who is a free agent in the summer. Spanish giants Barcelona and Real have been credited with an interest in the Under-19 international, but it is Newcastle who have made their move. It is thought significant progress has been made in recent days. Cordero only turned 18 in November, by which time he had scored three of his four goals in Spain’s second tier this season. He has made 24 league appearances and started Malaga’s 1-1 draw with Levante on Saturday. It is likely these additions will be loaned out during their first season at Newcastle, with head of strategic partnerships Jack Ross tasked with finding suitable clubs. Id say there was around 10 minutes around the 75-85 mark where it died off but it was almost like everyone was waiting for that last few minutes to belt out ‘ tell me ma’ Special mention to whoever thought of the ‘it must be the ball’ chant, fucking fantastic

Maybe it depended where you were sitting but PSG for me was very special, goosebumps all night. That said, this was a close second. Absolutely fantastic. Before the game was electric and singing none stop throughout, me and my boy are exhausted haha. Not aimed at anyone in particular, but the bitching before the game was unnecessary. Generally when it matters , the crowd turns up. Would be amazing for it to be like this every game but that’s just not going to happen. Special night tonight, loved every second

Newcastle Untied have completed the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Baran Yildiz from Turkish club Gençlerbirligi. The 18-year-old midfielder was scouted by Newcastle’s recruitment team and has agreed a deal that will see him join up with the club’s academy on Tyneside. Although Newcastle failed to make a first-team signing during the winter transfer window, the Under-21s set-up has been bolstered with the signings of some promising young players. Kyle Fitzgerald joined from Galway United following his 18th birthday last week and Georgian forward Vakhtang Salia is set to arrive from Dinamo Tbilisi once he turns 18 in August. Yildiz will be the latest addition to Newcastle’s academy with the deal confirmed by Gençlerbirligi’s general manager Ali Ekber Düzgün. “One of our football players from our infrastructure [to the[ Premier League. His transfer to the team is an important success for both Gençlerbirliği and our player. I hope he successfully represents Gençlerbirliği abroad like Arda Güler. We wish him success in his career." Real Madrid and Turkey star Arda Güler, like Yildiz, was previously part of Gençlerbirligi’s academy and reacted positively to the confirmation of the move on social media. Baran Yildiz reacts to Newcastle United transfer On Tuesday, Yildiz took to Instagram to issue a farewell message to Gençlerbirligi after agreeing to join Newcastle. He wrote: “Dear Gençlerbirliği Community. Today, I bid farewell to this great family, whose jersey I have proudly worn for nine years, in line with my career planning. Recommended Reads “Let no one doubt that I will do things that will make both Gençlerbirliği and my country proud wherever I go. First of all, I would like to thank our legendary president İlhan Cavcav, my teachers Adnan Özcan, Erol Tokgözler and all the club workers who contributed.” With Newcastle hamstrung by PSR rules, the club have put more focus on signing high-potential youth players. In addition to the signings of Yildiz, Salia and Fitzgerald in 2025, the club are also in talks to sign Malaga winger Antonio Cordero on a pre-contract agreement. The deal would see the 18-year-old join on a free transfer in the summer. The low-risk, potentially high-reward nature of youth signings is a strategy that has been outlined by sporting director Paul Mitchell and his predecessor Dan Ashworth previously. The club has expanded its scouting network in recent seasons in an attempt to identify young players with high potential from across the world such as Yildiz, who was identified despite not making a first-team appearance for Gençlerbirligi. “Scouting and recruiting emerging talent is an essential part of building a sustainable future, particularly within the current PSR framework, so the market is fiercely competitive,” Mitchell said previously. "We continue to scout extensively, both domestically and overseas, with a view to securing players who can come through our talent pathway and, ideally, become part of the first team in future.” Your next Newcastle United read: Newcastle United have already agreed 'reluctant' summer transfer after five-year deal signed

You get the point though, I don’t think any of what you’re complaining about is new, there’s just loads more of it.
-
Why is everyone kicking off about the atmosphere the day before the game ffs?
-
Are you not just mistaken ‘sad’ for ‘modern day football’?! Isn’t this just the age we live in with content being pushed down your throat? Of course there club are going to try and gee the crowd up, I’d be amazed if similar didn’t happen before the semi finals in the 90’s. But now there’s just more ways to shove it down your neck, there’s more people involved, more platforms. The fans don’t NEED to be told, every single person in the stadium will be collectively shitting themselves/excited as fuck tomorrow including me.

How much is a name and number these days? he boy wants his home and away tops done

But it isn’t because we can’t spend any money. -
Forgetting about our crowd for a second, the away fans were diabolical yesterday. I was right next to them in the standing section and apart from one ‘come on Fulham’ when they scored I didn’t know they were there until the very end. Shocking set of fans.

Do you think this is how the club want to operate? Or do you think they’re being held back by the rules?
