    Frank Lampard's mum

Sad news, but I agree. It's fairly big news that one of the top players for one of the top teams in the top league is missing one of the most important games of the season because his mother has died tbh While I sympathise with Frank and wouldn't wish the death of a parent on anyone, the major news is that he's missing the match, not that his mother has died. I'd rather hear about this than Princess f****** Di tbh I'd rather hear about you cuttiing your toenails than hear any more about Di. Doesn't make it newsworthy though.

  3. The most important words though are the last 3.
  4. The real issue will almost certainly be that the church know for a fact that if their already dwindling band of churchgoers have a choice between sitting there being told they're going to hell or watching their favourite team beat their local rivals, there's only going to be one result. They're not worried about the noise, they're worried about the competition.
  5. I've tried to run this gibberish through http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr but I'm none the wiser as to what this retard is saying. Can someone help me out please? Just I don't speak Moron.
  6. It was an awesome spectacle, only small shame was that those around me were singing at twice the speed he was so kept getting ahead of him. On the plus side though it meant we got to sing each chorus twice!
  7. Been woeful all season. Hits the first man every. single. time.
  8. No place for him in a 4-3-3. And it looks like when we switch to 4-4-2 then Duff is the favoured option, possibly because Zog is proving to be a huffy bugger.
  9. Saw very little myself. Like many others I got caught up with the goings-on between the police / mackems / Geordies outside the Leazes after the match, but I didn't see anything nasty, just a load of songs from our lot. I couldn't even see the mackems, there were too many of us and police in the way. After that I went for a game of snooker on Stowell Street (Well not literally ON Stowell Street, that would just be silly! ) and whilst it was as quiet as a mouse in there, I did hear numerous sirens going off outside and heard the copper chopper flying round overhead. I half-expected it to look like Beirut when I left (Or should that be Sunderland?) with burnt out cars and ruined buildings everywhere but I saw nothing at all in the way of damage to anything etc anywhere.

    Booing Chopra

It was pantomime booing for me, not really hateful. Don't see a problem with it, it's a derby ffs. I have nothing against Chopra.
  11. Continuing my voting for Faye. Nearly switched to Pattison on the grounds that at least Faye tried hard, but then remembered just how badly he played even when he did try his hardest.
  12. Excellent. Any that you know of for certain?
  13. Oh, I appreciate that. Doesn't stop me trying to find somewhere though. I mean we're in the age of 24 hour licensing now so there must be somewhere!
  14. True, a pint around the train station might not be the best idea.
  15. Thought about putting this in the non-football section, but it's in relation to getting a pint in before the game against the unwashed so I've put it here. So, anyone know? Normal pub opening time is 11, but on a Sunday it's normally 12 iirc. So what's the crack on Sunday, anybody know of anywhere in Newcastle that's definitely open (And serving!) earlier than 12?
  16. WHS. Are they suggesting they'd rather have Faye in the team than Smith? Give over. Smith's not good enough, we all know that. But Faye is / was just utterly clueless.
  17. Faye and Pattison for me. Amdy Faye is simply not a footballer. Pattison is a fat waste of space. Faye needs to win this, those voting for Luque and Boumsong et al need their heads read. Not justifying your inflated salary does not equate to being the worst player we've had in 15 years.

    You have 1 wish....

No matter what anyone chooses, we'd never have won the league or any cups. This is Newcastle United, we always find a way to screw things up. So I would have added another one at the Stadium of Plight in Shearer's last game. We'd still win feck all, but at least we'd have stuck 5 past the mackems.
  19. Those touting a cricket score have delusions above their station. Firstly, cricket scores do not happen in derbies. Secondly, 3 wins against mediocre / shit opposition does not make us capable of cricket scores. Thirdly the mackems are only a 3 points behind us. I think we're favourites, but let's not get carried away here. I'll go 2-1, goals from Martins and Barton.
  20. Crouch would be good. No need for another 'keeper though, there's many more important areas to look at first.
  21. Would have settled for a draw before the game. Well played lads. Bring on the mackems!
  22. Well we've been the better side, of that there's no doubt. That's encouraging no matter what the final score.
  23. That save from Owen came of James' afro by the looks of things!
  24. James such a tremendous athlete, but seems to have a grape for a brain.
