even if he says the right things you'd say "all talk, just words, he needs to do it on the pitch" quite bitter about him aren't you ? Bitter? No. Pissed off that he has been a waste of £17 million and £100 grand each week to every one of us who puts their hand in their pocket to support Newcastle United, and who are at this minute feeling s*** scared that we could go down? Yes. I couldn't give a flying whatsit whether Michael Owen plays for England ever again, but I do care that he seems to not be able to motivate the team that he is captain of, and that he has looked completely diinterested in this club since his comeback at Reading last year. I have to say I've been quite impressed by his conduct since he became captain. I'm not saying he's the best captain out there, but I think he's showing that he does care at the minute. Not being sarcastic(as I realise that this might come across this way) but how? I watch the bloke and he looks like he would rather be anywhere else than playing for us most weeks. I think you, and many, only see that because it's what you're looking for. Big money paid, high wages, huge name, bigger than the club really - it seems to be what people want to see. I remember watching him all game coming back trying to get the ball and make something happen, come on here and people are complaining he was standing up doing nothing, when i knew for a fact that was complete rubbish. People here want him to fail. Bullshit, I would love to see Owen get in there are score goals, but I have seen him play, home and away, and he is not capable of providing what we need, which is goals. He neither scores them regularly or makes assists, and as an attacking forward player that is what he should be doing. I know he's not been upto much this season. I think that's largely down to service, but granted, he had his chances v blackburn and messed up so it's him too. But I really don't think that's to do with effort or anything. I mean come on, even if he doesn't give a damn, he'll want to play well to get a good move. Do you think he missed those chances v blackburn out of contempt for newcastle?!

But i don't see why what he said implies in anyway he doesn't give a damn about Newcastle. I think people are desperate to extract that from anything he says.
-
He was probably asked "Do you fear England ommission?" And he probably rightly replied "yes" Should have had the balls to say "No comment!" I don't see why he should.

I just had a look at Boro's fixtures and think it could be them! They may have a 1 point advantage but have some very tough games. I think it could be decided on the Newcastle - Sunderland game and Sunderland - Boro.

Relegation - will we or won't we? *NO FIXTURE LISTS PLEASE*

This. It's very important, but we shouldn't assume defeat means disaster (well, worse disaster than we're in). A win would be a huge bonus - i reckon we could push on for europe actually. -
Think it would be silly to sell. Try and bounce back straight away, and no reason we couldn't do well in our first season back in the prem and shoot back up in value.
-
Yes. Probably make an extra effort for away games too (though i go to lots anyway). Of course i don't want to go down, but if we do i'll enjoy the aspect of going to different places. (actually just remembered i have already on that 2 year scheme!)
-
Duff's been one of our best players in this terrible period i think. Of course it's not much of a gauge, but i think it's true nonetheless.
-
I like watching Manu. I love seeing them bomb forward.
-
I know what he means. Wins feel pretty empty when you know you've missed the boat on europe and you're safe from relegation. I'll appreciate wins against fulham, reading and whoever this season in a way only comparable to when we were going for CL spots.
-
I don't have a problem with viduka at all. He's class, and i don't know that he has a bad attitude.
-
25-30 000 for average games i think. Still a good away crowd. You have to admit this all very exciting at the same time. I'm very nervous, but i've not been so desperate to be at the games since we were challenging for important places at the top end.
-
Did you not see him getting held back! It was right in front of the linesman's eyes!
-
No one deserves our support more than the bloke who brought you these...

Surely noone can face any facts until at least a significant way into next season -
Shut up Taylor. Now's certainly not the time.
-
Justice. What kind of stupid comment is that? Have a look at yourself, mate. Who the f*** are you? IF your s*** fans were singing that s****, then it's f****** justice being done, yes? I don't condone anyone being a c*** at football matches, and to sing stuff like that was just wrong. I never realised Curtis Davies and some Villa fans were a single organism

Don't forget boro are only a point ahead too
-
Everyone fit -----------Harper Beye------Faye----Taylor------Enrique Milner----Emre----Butt------Duff (i think, him and zog are both two of our better players) ----------Viduka----Owen I'd have picked the same team as KK today i think though. Only possible change smith/martins, but i'm unsure of martins' fitness, and may have left us a bit small up front.
-
Probably would have for me tbh. Who else? Geremi? Martins is just back from injury.
-
I don't see why his reputation should be damaged by anything that happens this season. Fair enough if we go down next
-
You don't f****** say. Another pointless anti-Owen post. Nice one. Sorry did you think Owen was the epitome of calm in front of goal today? But he wasn't criticising the other players saying "All those dickheads are nervous and i'm not". Of course he is probably too What idiots we have in this city
