To be fair, they probably did more than that.

Not really. You're not going to sign a promising youngster for just a couple of years. 1 because they're not even going to get a chance in that time, and they could just be snapped up by someone bigger.

I stayed as always. Sometimes i wish i didn't feel such principles though so i could just go home and watch Coronation Street.

Should Sam Allardyce get the Sack? (Main Page Poll)
Superior Acuña replied to madras's topic in Football
He should go maybe if someone's lined up, something that they've planned for a bit. Not as a reaction to the last few games. Keep him at least until there really is someone great to replace him that won't be sacked too in a year. He's gone now though, Sam. End of the season at the latest. I heard City fans singing it! I think they were trying to confuse the press or something. Singing 'We want Sammy out' then 'There's only one Alan Shearer' -
I can imagine him wanting out actually. I don't think he;ll like the stick.

Tim Krul, who heard it from best mate Beye

I fear we will never know. 96 was the best chance i can see us ever having in my lifetime (I am 36) 1999/2000 Outplaying chelsea, beat them and one game v Aston Villa to win the FA cup.

totally different,at least in the case of bellamy as we had no-one to play wide right (where he has played before) and could play shola through the middle instead. What? As far as I can remember we had Bowyer, Ambrose, Dyer and Milner who could all play on the right and allow our best player (which was undoubtedly Bellamy at that time) to play in his proper position. I seem to remember one match when we had Shola, Bellamy, Kluivert, Robert, and Shearer all on the pitch. I thought Bellamy on the right was fair enough. We had two good players in Kluivert and Shearer who were centre forwards. Bellamy quite often worked the wings anyway, so it was worth a bash having 3 top players on. I thought Bowyer was decent in the middle but terrible on the right. Bobby insisted on playing him there, which is why he had a terrible first season.

Draw or defeat. Even if we get good, we'll be rubbish away always. -
He did a few then just said "Barcelona and so forth"

I felt teary. Could have mentioned newcastle once though He's aged alot. It's amazing it's just a few years since he managed us. Don't think he could have lasted much longer.

I find her very annoying. I can't tell whether it's just a woman's voice doesn't suit it, or if it's specifically her.

I watched a video of him the other day and it made me sad. Never understood all the stick he got. He was great.

Anelka will go somewhere better than us

When we expect to dominate, Viduka and Owen. When not, Smith and Owen/Martins.

Ashley wants Capello. In other news winged pig sighted.
Superior Acuña replied to a topic in Football
Can't say i know much about Capello apart from that he did well at madrid, then got sacked. Has he ever stayed anywhere long? -
Born and brought up in Newcastle. Currently living between Newcastle and Edinburgh for university.

I think we have a strong midfield on paper, and have done for years. We've got the firewood, we need a lighter.

Let's keep St James' Park a cauldron of noise
Superior Acuña replied to Benwell Lad's topic in Football
We were in the game and put a decent performance in sat, V Liverpool we were never in it from the 1st kick. No, but it even before kick off, you could just tell. It was the same at Reading away. -

The atmosphere at liverpool was weird. You could tell before kickoff even that everyone would be impatient and not too interested. I wonder why it was so different on saturday. I think tomorrow should start quite good. -
You're right, but Liverpool Man U is a rivalry, not a derby. Different thing. I would say it's sort of a derby. It cant be much further than boro to newcastle. It's the battle of the north west. I get the impression that in the prem, the fiercest are us, sunderland and villa birmingham. Obviously the old firm is huge, but has to have lost something, occurring 4 times a season. I like that the mackems are a bit of a yoyo team, as even twice a season i think would reduce the magnitude. I prefer the idea of being close, but actually different cities. You're not just 'fighting' over an hereditary team you support, but it's city versus city. All of newcastle, versus all of sunderland, everybody united.
