  1. There was also Man City 04/05 and Villa 96/97 (both home wins). The former against Keegan!
  2. Keegan - my first manager. I was v young, but we were the hottest thing in the country in my earliest football memories. Transformational. Eddie - our first cup, that first survival season was amazing, followed by consistent euro challengers in a v competitive league Bobby - gave me some of my best football memories as was at an age to appreciate more and went to loads of games. 01/02 was really a special season Rafa - a light in darkness, promotion, saved us from the mess we were Hughton - got us promoted easily at a time when i thought we'd keep sinking. that champ season was one of my favourites. would have kept us up too if not sacked. Roeder - mediocre full season but that 05/06 with him was great fun as we surged for Europe from being proper shit. Dalglish - clearly a talented manager but had a shocker. Do wonder if he couldve turned it around sometimes. Still gave us an FA Cup final and one of the club's most memorable nights v Barcelona. Didn't stick around long enough to create too much resentment. Gullit - similar to Dalglish. Shit season but an FA Cup final. Credit for resigning. Allardyce - poor, but didn't really get a proper shot. Pardew - slimy character who solidified the club as just 'existing' under Ashley. In some ways him and Bruce are bottom for that. But above others for 5th season, clearly some talent around riding that momentum. Souness - ruined the Bobby team, set us back at a crucial time as the PL was changing. Kinnear- what the fuck was going on around then man Bruce - we entered a new phase of mediocrity and pointlessness with him at the helm. Has his niche in management but it wasn't us. Wanted us to be shit and grateful for it. McClaren - i have no animosity for him but that's partly cos his tenure was just so sadly pathetic. He's the only one of these I never saw in the flesh as our manager - came and went while I was living away and didn't visit during that period - mercifully.
  3. Forest last year was 4-3 too. But not a proper one - wasn't back and forth.
  4. Obviously minor but... Gullit gave Paul Dalglish his debut.
  5. I was dreading VAR too. It was amazing but have to admit I was a bit restrained compared to the old days cos I couldn’t shake VAR fear
  6. Loved his celebration. What a radgie
  7. Joint 5th top scorer in the league. As many as Ekitiké.
  8. When we were losing I decided I was going to stop having any hope for this season as it was too stressful. Although even if we'd lost, everyone's so inconsistent we'd still be in it, but I just couldn't deal with hope followed by being let down. And I'd stop doing this. Anyway we won and we're class. Us -12 (nc) ManU +9 (nc) Tottenham 0 (-1) (quite remarkable that they're exactly the same as last season, which was so shit) Villa +7 (+1) Chelsea -10 (-3)
  9. HOWAYYYY. This trio of games (1 down 2 to go) has felt the biggest to me all season. Win and we're actually in a good position Let's fuckin win
  10. Need to think it through but I'd scrap those offsides like the one West Ham got penalized for tonight. He comes backwards - no forward advantage is gained. Or at least scrap VAR intervention in them.
  11. Aye exactly, which seems is not how they stock judging by previous releases. I have +* and I'll be picking it up when I have a chance to get it in person. (* cos I'm an idiot who couldn't chance not getting it *just in case* it affected ticket chances)
  12. I don't understand how that's a perk. Who gives a fuck about getting it a couple of days early??
  13. I got that training top for doing my 5m swimming badge. Might see if I can negotiate that deal again.
  14. I was wondering this too. Spread across the whole league, he's def the first I remember seeing doing it. Not just in big games either, any old match.
  15. He's going to score the winner for us in the FA Cup final.
  16. We currently have one player on 9 goals all comps (Nick), and three on 7 (Gordon, Bruno, Barnes). Last season only one player made it to double figures (Isak). The two seasons before that three each year (Isak x 2, Wilson x 2, Gordon x 1, Miggy x 1). Decent chance of four players ending the season on double figures (maybe Wissa could be a candidate too)- wonder when the last time that was in top flight. edit: I didn't check all seasons, just some I thought candidates. I think it would be 01/02 when Shearer, Bellamy, Nobby and Robert all reached double figs. (Did in first champ season - Carroll, Shola, Nolan, Lovenkrands)
  17. I work on the assumption top 5 is CL. It will more than likely be the case.
  18. 5th is wide open and will remain so. We need to do better than the first half but we can afford inconsistency. Let’s win the the next one. HOWAY THE LADSSS
  19. Us -12 (nc) ManU +9 (-2) Tottenham +1 (-2) Villa +6 (nc) Chelsea -7 (+1)
  20. Ps those tickets thatve just come up would easily sell out with more notice. Most people won’t know you can buy one now and others won’t be able to do at such short notice
  21. Definitely. Win this pair of home games would be a massive lift. Howay!
