I'm not going to judge us on the 60 mins with ten men - that's a long time to play with ten men whoever the (PL) opposition, but was concerned by the first 30 mins, especially given how poor we were in many games the second half of last season, and we had most our key players there (incl no Dubravka to blame). Still, was only 30 mins so hopefully can't read much into it....

I thought it was pretty good. Not loads of singing but lots of shouting both encouragement and abuse. Good celebrations for the goal too given what had come before. Definitely not at all like some of the dead passive games I was at last season.

Not really but I would always expect that to be a red. Rarely is a football ‘headbutt’ ever really a headbutt (can’t think of ever seeing a headbutt being someone actually nutting someone - it’s exactly what happened there (never known why footballers do that). Can talk about it as broader issue but Schar knows the reality he’s playing in.

Schar does move his head to him like I thought I saw in real time. It’s never really violent conduct, but it is almost always a red card. Not really got any sympathy, stupid. Brereton also moves and should’ve been sent off too though following that.

Yeah, that's why my initial reaction was anger at Schar. If you make head contact with someone while facing off, you should expect to be sent off based on what I've seen of football over the last couple of decades - and you should expect loads of players to go down to make sure you do. Not saying it's right but I reckon it's typically how it plays out, or at least often enough that it's a very silly thing to do.

Oh on the whinging side - for the second time in three games the seat right next to me was empty (different seats). What waste man when people are desperate to get in. Then the two next to that missed the goal going in for pints on 40mins.

I loved that like. We were shit at the start but the red card turned it into an old fashioned siege, and what should've been a routine 3 points into proper fist pumping stuff. Appreciated the goal and save much more than in other recent wins. Joelinton <3 Not seen red back. My initial reaction (from the Leazes) was anger at Schar for being so stupid to give him that opportunity, but maybe I was being harsh. (Did I see @Sifu walking up the stairs in the Leazes?)

Actually if I'm understanding that correctly, it has 4th as our most likely position (marginally). But when putting it into a table, it has Chelsea as having a higher chance of 4th than us. Gives us a 1/4 chance of being in top 4 basically.
