8.7m In all honesty though if we got him and Grenier and replaced mapou if he leaves... Might even feel a spark in that empty black and white soul of mine... Right before pardew screws it and gets us relegated. Aye, imagine having this potential talent with Cabella and De Jong and still having Pardew there to ruin them
-
How has he done at Dortmund? - can't see us getting him
-
3-5-2 would probably work with tactically adept players that are well coached and matched. We have a shocking array of defensive players that I don't really want to play more of them. I would like to see us in a 4-3-3, however not sure how that would suit DeJong and not sure we have the right 3 centre mids for it. Under this clown we will never be decent in any formation because movement is not promoted and we are not capable of fluid football, preferring to defend at all cost (While conceding loads of goals) and not attacking with any degree of confidence. Bring on this season and the potential ruining of DeJong, Cabella etc

the per year seems rather more likely I thought I would see a reference to Donnay socks or firetrap t-shirts after that and then the 4 years would have made sense

Nice touch that, this region is unreal at times. For all the rivalry and piss taking that tends to be where it ends (For the majority). Some decent people and magnificent effort in the money they raised which will go to great causes. Nice touch in New Zealand also and the club seem to have it right in paying respect
-
Doesn't that article suggest we would pay Isla $3.5 mill for 4 years, that's $16,000 per week not likely. Unless it means per year which is prob £40k a week?
-
The detail was extraordinary. Full page spread and everything. Seemed very specific ... let's party!
-
Aye, true of all the teams why pick us if just a rumour. They must have something, but then why sign Jaanmat?
-
God knows, don't trust our media to get anything right and aren't kept informed, however doesn't seem like something we would do
-
Just cant see us spending Just cant see us spending 8 million on one, unless we really are serious about evolving. We have been desperate for a right sided player for years having pushed all sorts of players out there.
-
Cant see us signing anyone until the team is back from NZ, and can't really see us signing anything other than a Striker, although an option on the right would be great considering we don't have anyone
-
I think there were some clear positives from today with decent performances from Aarons, De Jong, Anita, Haidara and Perez when on, however there was still a massive bell end on the sidelines projecting his horrific negativity and atrocious tactics towards otherwise talented footballers (Taylor and Cuntback excluded). Good to see some of younger players though and def potential in a few of our young players, hoping Abeid, Aarons, Armstrong and Campbell are allowed to progress.
-
I think our midfield bypass switch has been left on
-
People jump on anything, no malice intended its just a picture ffs
-
Not sure about that mind, admittedly we will continue to concede too many but we will hopefully drive teams back and dominate more with our attacking options
-
I should add, I want us to sign a new Centre Half, a right winger and a centre mid, although would you want that much change all at once
-
I am expecting 1 more really, prob a striker with 2-3 outgoing
-
Apparently Ashley was royally p*ssed off when Kinnear didnt sign any players in two transfer windows and sold Cabaye at a reduced price. So I imagine hes quite happy with the work Charnley is doing. I suppose as long as Charnley is actually spending money we don't recoup then it may be fine. 6 players for the money received on Cabaye and Debuchy deals essentially. Wonder if we plan on spending that 60 odd million TV money we have.
-
Apparently talks underway for another striker according to Graeme Bailey, Ashley is going to bum the fuck out of Charnley when he realises what he is up to. Signing players especially this many won't go down well
-
Plus between him, Cabella and De Jong there maybe enough goals shared around, not a bad thing to have other players scoring as provides more fret. We need a athletic striker and it seems he has those attributes to cause issues. Hopefully we will bring someone in alongside him but shaping up well.
-
Suarez only started biting when he was 24, so this guy could become that. Players peak and develop at different times. Sometimes a change of league may suit different players also.
-
When considering whether the transfer business has been successful at the end of transfer window, just look and see if Shola is here or not. For what it's worth I think we have done some good business, 6 players over that line when they were threatening to only sign 1 or 2 a year is good work. Maybe debatable the quality of some of those players but put into context I think we look stronger than last season if we can only get another Striker after Riviere and hopefully a defensive option. Depending on whether we decide to keep MYM, Fatim and Marv we could have quite a decent squad, albeit it with a complete bellend in charge of them.
-
The fact we have actually upped our offers to get the players we want this time is encouraging as is the securing a replacement before allowing Debuchy to go. Appears a slight change in strategy, whether that is down to Charnley or they have something horrific round the corner fuck knows. In ideal world we wouldn't be getting rid of Debuchy but he may have been pushing and 12 million is decent for him
-
4 signings so far is a damn sight better than fuck all for 18 months. Also De Jong and Cabella actually seem like type of players we want to have. The test is who they sell and what's left to come as still need 1 more striker, Right Back and potentially other positions.
-
Wait and see, if we don't get the other players we need then none of this will matter. Oh totally, but so far he is delivering, and a good start. Need at least 2 strikers, right back and arguably could do with a right winger, centre mid n centre half. Think strikers n right back are the minimum
