The lineup picks itself, but theres a lot of scope for the positioning. A lot of them can play in various positions, which is a good thing. We could just go down the old Man Utd route when they had Ronaldo. Just have Tiote sitting and let the rest play wherever!

I liked Oba and don't like the thought of him playing for another team in the Prem. Frustrating player obviously, but entertaining nonetheless. After his performance in our first leg against Alkmaar I was certain he was going to develop into one of the best players in the world. He was outrageous in that game.

I think he actually does a lot in central midfield that goes un-noticed. True, he doesn't have any pace and you won't see him playing Hollywood balls, but he is often a hub for play to go through when we are building on possession. He has a good first touch and can play an accurate pass when he has little time to do so. I'm a lot more confident of us retaining the ball when a dodgy pass is sent to him than someone like Guthrie for example.

I'm sure the commonly accepted opinion of Nolan's best position has totally switched on this forum. For the first part of the season people were saying how Nolan is essentially a striker and is too immobile for central midfield, and now since he's gone back to central midfield and carried on scoring (and playing well), he's shouldn't go near the forward position as he's too immobile. Just a random observation...

He was quite sloppy at times in the second half. Didn't do much wrong in the first half but was quiet. Picked Loven out with an outstanding pass mind.

As opposed to the lack of concentration from Simpson who left the goalscorer to pick the ball up and run at goal? I'm not opposing anything, or anyone's opinions, so less of the assumptions please. Clearly mistakes were made leading up to the goal, but the way I saw it, had Williamson not copied Simpson's movement, we may have gotten away with it. The assumption?! You said "but it was lack of concentration from him that probably caused the goal." - I'm not assuming anything, you say it was lack of concentration from Williamson that caused the goal, I'm say it's lack of concentration from Simpson. You assumed that I was opposing Simpson lacking concentration, or making a mistake leading up to the goal (customary ) Barton's shite pass was a factor in the goal, Simpson's allowing Lennon to pick the ball up was a factor, but the last thing the happened before the goal was Lennon running across Williamson. My point was that despite all of the mistakes leading up to the goal, had Williamson not got sucked in, we might have gotten away with it.

I personally thought that Williamson made it incredibly easy for Lennon to come inside with the ball, he wasn't concentrating. Fair enough Simpson got turned, but had Williamson not shadowed Simpsons movement, he'd have been standing where Lennon took the ball. I've been a fan of Williamson so far, but it was lack of concentration from him that probably caused the goal.

I'm not a massive fan of SWP, but my opinion of him is always a response to whether he should be in the England team. He'd certainly do a job for us, and wouldn't be opposed to him signing.

I didn't see that, but one of the classiest things about him is how he starts sliding in for a tackle, and slides about 5 yards before he actually scoops the ball away with his foot. Don't think I've seen any other defender tackle like that.

Slowly becoming one of the best defenders I've seen play for us. I don't like talking about it though as I'm afraid things will go tits up, but praise where it's due, he's been superb for 18 months now.

TBF if we're taking lots of niggley knocks I don't blame them for wanting to just see the game out.
