Its a shame Neill's OG didnt count that was fucking classic

Just watching it now, the reaction to N'Zogbia coming on was very mixed, but I thought it was more on the frosty side of things than the positive.

That was quality

Martins looks like he cares, when we don't get a decision he thinks we should have got, he practically has a fit!

This could well be the case, but its certainly a better way of going about getting a move to a decent team than whinging and crying every time your out of the team. It's a win win situation, the fans will love you for saying it, and prospective buyers will be impressed by your attitude.

If only all of our players had the attitude and determination he had.

The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]
Lenny replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
I must admit, I do feel like this transfer window is just going to pass us by. This might have something to do with how numb I find myself becoming to our situation. I'm generally an optimist but I really can't see any light at the end of the tunnel for us yet. -
What a contrast of attitudes compared to N'Zogbia: http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/01/09/guti-rrez-will-battle-it-out-61634-22650438/ JONÁS Gutiérrez did not sign up for a relegation fight, but he has pledged to throw himself into the battle for top-flight survival which threatens to dominate Newcastle United’s New Year ambitions. Gutiérrez opted for Newcastle over the summer after being sold on a vision of the club as a potential force with a team capable of competing for European qualification – but the reality has proved somewhat different. In his relatively short spell on Tyneside, Gutiérrez has worked under three managers and seen Tony Jimenez, the driving force behind his move to England, leave the club. Gutiérrez believes there is enough talent in the Newcastle squad to prevent relegation, but it has not dampened his enthusiasm for his new club. “I am surprised at where the club is, I must admit. But it does not change things – I want to stay at the club for very many years,” he said. “As a team we have to be better in the second part of the season. It is not acceptable for a team with so many good players to be down near the bottom. “But in some matches we have not had a lot of luck and that has cost us a lot of points this season. “Without that, we would be doing better but that is football. It is not always the best team that wins the match. “It is difficult with the injuries that we have. We knew when we started the season that we don’t have too many players and we have a small squad, though. We need those players to come back for us to move away from the bottom of the table.” Gutiérrez has not been immune to the curse of St James’s Park, his form having slipped slightly since a flying start to life at United. A relegation battle is hardly the ideal backdrop for a winger to flex his attacking muscle and so it has proved for the Argentina winger. Memories of his superb debut were evoked by a sterling second-half performance at Hull last weekend and Gutiérrez believes that he will improve during the second half of the season. “I think I will improve because I feel more settled, I feel fit and strong and I am used to how English football is played now,” he said. “I love English football. I was desperate to join Newcastle to play in the Premier League because I like this league very much and I have enjoyed it.” Despite the turmoil, Gutiérrez has settled well at St James’s Park. And he was suitably impressed by the way supporters reacted to Shay Given before the FA Cup third round tie with Hull. That is likely to be replicated at St James’s Park tomorrow when the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper steps out for his first home game since making his disillusionment with the club known. “He handled things very well against Hull and deserved the fans to cheer for him. It was important for him for the supporters to cheer for him,” Gutiérrez said. “The supporters are always with us. We will try to give them the win they deserve.”

he's been making noises about wanting away for at least 2 years now Maybe if he'd started more games at left wing ahead of Duff it might have been different. In the time Duff's been here, and taking into account injuries etc, (and correct me if I'm wrong) I would be surprised if Duff has played more/many more games than N'Zogbia. I do think that Duff's arrival was a cause of him wanting out though. He was one of our best players in the season prior to Duff signing, and we only strengthened in his position and up front, whilst other positions that needed strengthening were left. He seems to have developed a chip on his shoulder since then.

If it wasn't for the fact that we're in such a shite position with regards to squad depth (amongst other things), I'd gladly see the back of N'Zogbia. He's a slightly above average player at the moment, playing off the back of 1 fairly decent season (ala Jenas). He also cries every time he's out of the team. In almost any case, if a player doesn't want to play for the club, he can fuck off, but unfortunately we're not (or shouldn't be) in a position where we can sell any players before the end of the season.
-
How long is Smith actually out for?
-
We need more depth, so we will raise the funds for reinforcements by selling our first teamers. Brilliant plan.
-
What, old frying pan face in the background?
-
Fuck me how many punts were there in 30 seconds then!
-
That Blackburn side looks shite.
-
This I'd go with this as well.
-
He really put himself in the shop window today.

Can I ask what Duff did (other than being unpopular) to deserve a 4? He lost the ball almost every time and he didn't put in a good cross all game. What a load of crap. He put in 2 or 3 good crosses early on, and worked hard all game. I don't recall seeing him lose the ball much either. It's fair enough people on here not liking certain players, but when agenda's are developed its just bloody stupid. I don't particularly rate Duff, but if he's played well, he's played well. I'm not necessarily referring to you with regards to agenda's with players by the way, as I don't know if you do, but it appears you have one with that comment (like many others) as he had a decent game.
-
How can you play noticeably poor 90% of the time, yet not be considered shit. I think he's shit. If his legs have gone, he's no longer good enough.
-
He, like Colo, did his job today without any particular fuss.
-
Cant see that happening, Guthrie is looking good for us now, Kinnear would be MAD to drop him instead of Butt. If he does then i give him 2 games before he changes it. Why is it everyone bar NUFC managers can see through Butt? But he's a model pro..... I would like agree with you in that I couldn't see it happening, but with Kinnear, I really think its a possibility.
-
you also just know that we'll bring in 1 centre midfielder (Barry Ferguson) and it will be Guthrie that makes way for him, and not Butt.
