Hughes will be in place before the weekend, I have it on good - none mackem - authority.

Can't wait for that daft fuck Sir Ricky wasshisname to get into that thread! That will be an epic read!

Sat next to Gareth Southgate on a train a couple of weeks ago, he was on his way back from France having been out there to work for the BBC while Arsenal played Marseille. Interesting bloke, nice to talk to, lives in Harrogate. Apparently works for the FA as well in Youth Development. Was in standard class because the FA or the BBC wont stump up for First Class travel.....

Yes, I read the article highlighted section to mean that the country is lead to believe that we Geordies think our place is at the top of English football but, that is a misrepresented view. In other words most of us are realistic enough to know that we are riding the crest of a fantastic wave at the moment but, just waiting for it all to crash down around us. Quite a reasonably well writen piece without being too patronising....

Not sure but, seemed to crop up mostly on the right.

Watching the match yesterday, Spuds v QPR, I thought Barton looked very ordinary throughout the match. Always trying to put in the wonder ball that would lead to an opening but, 99 times out of 100 just failing. Now that I can watch him with a more subjective view, without being all black and white blinkered, it is plain to see what a predictable player he really is and how easily he can be pushed out of the game, especially while playing out wide on the right. He is not creative, or wasn't yesterday, not defensive (particularly) or not very direct. All in all not a particularly useful player. I think our "current crop" (for want of a better term) makes for a better balance to the side. There is a clear difference to the attitude of opposing players when they are confronted by Barton to when they are playing against the likes of Cabaye or Tiote. I was sad to see him go but, now feel that it was the right decision for everyone, especially us!

Saw him on Question of Sport last week and I couldn't help myself but, shout out CUNT everytime he opened his mouth to talk.....
-
Because he's bitter. After both himself and his stupid agent were deluded enough to believe Arsenal would even consider signing him. Given that he's the captain of a team that's just lost 6-0, maybe he should be paying attention to problems nearer home. I do wonder whether he's got his eye on a career in the media after his retirement. As with the example of Robbie Savage, the TV people seem to be going for a 'personality' who can be a bit 'outspoken', within reason. Talking crap or talking in cliches is not a disqualification. He definitely seems to be angling for something in the media after he's finished playing. Him and Robbie Savage to have a show together They could name it Savage Barton: Truly Deeply Mad. This deserves recognition. Ha ha, good work.

I don't want your thanks, you makem bastard. I am pissing my pants at that!

If you include the ones that don't have Crouch in the title but, still have full Crouch content there must be 15 separate threads on the subject.... Jeez!
-
Seven separate threads on the first page of RTG now about signing Crouch, possibly.....
-
I wasn't having a go at you, I was being ironic at the comment that someone seems to not like mackems very much.... was saying that could have been pretty much anyone who has ever heard of the mackems....
-
"Newcastle came around 3rd best in the table at the time. Whoever's dug up this report must really hate the mackems " That narrows down the field of potential authors then............
-
Us useless Mags, we can't even be as fat as the mackems! Where's that picture of the celebrations? Sunderland fans fatter than Newcastle fans. Cue photo of fans in tears of joy and cheering!
-
I don't care that we didn't dominate the game, I don't care that for long periods Sunlun looked like the better team, I do care that we won and they have no answer - it is points that matter and we have taken the first 3 points of the season from them. I cannot wait to hear the excuses rolling out........... They should have been down to 10 men in the first half, justice was eventually done!
-
Ha ha, thread about Barton already up to 3 pages... Post number 8 refers to the fabled character "Mag at Work" as well. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=613160

I'm not that keen on my next door neighbour.....

I have lived in several places around the UK, went to university in Winchester (many years ago). No matter where I lived I always hated anything to do with Sunderland. I am now back in Newcastle and nothing has changed.

As a season ticket holder, this season, we have no choice but, to be a member as well. This is tagged onto the season ticket fee... yes? Do I get anything that tells me that I am a member, like a badge or something? I did read that I can get the club news text to my mobile, team news etc. I have had nothing from the club to tell me how to register for that feature or anything else that I can now access for being a member.. Anyone know?

Erdinç didn't release that statement until a couple of weeks back though iirc. When it was the end of June/start of July, we were still very much in for him which was when Pardew said that he was hoping to sign someone before the US tour and someone else after the tour too. Unrelated question. How do you do that little wiggle underneath the "C" at the end of Erdinc?
-
wasn't there a story doing the rounds that erdinc wanted to come and terms were about agreed then the agent wanted more, deal scuppered and player announcing he'd stay. for the little it's worth i think he'll end up here for september. I think you are right, think he will be in black and white within a couple of weeks of the new season!
-
You would have to hope that when Erdinc released the statement that he planned to stay in Paris that our lot would have thought that we needed to move on to someone else though? That said the recent interest from PSG in QPR Striker Taarabt may set to unsettle him again......... grasp at straws like!

I am thinking that the clubs idea of news that will excite me as a fan is a little off the mark.......
