    RIP sale thread.

I think that's unfair tbh. It's my understanding that the players do loads of work in the community that goes completely unpublished in papers like the Mirror (unless one of them does something wrong while doing it of course). Boro have community work written into their contracts. So does Joey Barton, it saves time later!
  2. My opinion: Kinnear clearly wants to work in football again at some point in the future, today he was at a launch for a computer game and had the chance to sell himself as a viable manager on the TeeVee but, he won't be ready for a couple of months. Lower league teams who may be interested will see that he doesn't end up taking the "job offer" at Newcastle but, is still available and Joe Kinnear starts to receive offers from other clubs who think that he must be a valuable commodity if the "mighty" Newcastle would offer him a post so therefore Kinnear wins! All spin........ Alternatively - Ashley knows exactly what will wind up the avaerage Newcastle football fan, his contempt for us is clear and is just doing all of this to make us suffer even more. He doesn't care about the money anymore, he has plenty so it has become a game for him. 52,000 people vs. 1......

Suppose the 3pm press conference has been cancelled as well then?? Damn, I was looking forward to that!

For what it is worth I am prepared to believe that Thomo is telling us what he has heard from his reputable source within the club. You don't have to believe if you don't want to, it won't make it feel any better if the source is wrong by having a pop at him all the time either.

Whether there was an embargo or not, the fact is that Newcastle have sold a player and there are plenty of reasons to believe that more will follow this week. I will only start to read something into this once a player is signed rather than a stream of outgoing! Ashley is sanctioning the sale of some of the clubs assets that is all....
  7. That is so very sad. So glad that he was able to hang on for his big day at St James' om Sunday! RIP to a true Gentleman.
  8. Newcastle in Championship > Hull in Premiership Hebib Beye must know that!

Mahjoob doesn't appear on The Times rich list at all. That generally includes all the wealthy people in the world, although Iran could just keep that sort of information quiet?? I did like the Iranian footballer Karim Bagheri (Pro Bighairy), always added some comedy to world cup finals!

Not an expert on None Disclosure Agreements by any stretch, nor have I claimed to be however, the very definition of the title "none disclosure" indicates that a party being involved in one would not be able to disclose details relating to or pertaining to items and information that the agreement was set up to protect. I am sure that identity of bidders was one of the items that was included in the NDA when there was first talk of one being prepared by SP at the start of the sale process.

By the terms of the bidding process set up by Semour Price only bidders who remain anonimous and sign the NDA will be given acces to the accounts so to answer your question, probably no.

Uncle Chuckles or Charlie Watshisname?? He has very little chance if he is only just logging his bid now. Plus he has totally blown any chance because he has disclosed his intent while the other "serious" bidders are following the None Disclosure Agreement terms. Probably more likely he has been sounded out by the press about Newcastle because of his links with Sunderlands original takeover and he has responded with something along the lines of saying yes, it would probably be a decent investment because the price is right as compared to the value of the club a couple of years ago. But, just imagine if it was true??? We could all start thinking that we are Irish as well!! That would be really great fun what with the tricolour flags and the Guiness hats and the really great sense of humour and all the Irish people starting to follow us, to be sure! Stupid mackem cunts!
  13. Yes, but that doesnt mean you have to buy a Season Ticket. Theres a few people on here who seem to think you cant call yourself a supporter unless you have a season ticket, but its not that long ago that the most supporters didnt bother with season tickets. I can only assume these people werent about pre 91. I know what you mean but, bear in mind I'm 43 and been going to the games since I was a school boy, a season ticket was unheard of back then, you just wandered up to the turnstyles at 2:45pm and paid to get in. I only started buying season tickets when they started the all seater and ground changes and I could afford one. I have a cracking seat in the East Stand and I don't want to change it by not having my season ticket now. I'm sure that is fair enough to most people who read this?
  14. Last year we averaged high 40k's throughout the season, only sold out for the big teams visits.
  15. It sounds like I am preaching about how great a fan I am etc but, surely if you support Newcastle (or any team) you do that whether they win or lose, it is in your blood?? I had no questions in my mind about renewing, I paid for 3 years anyway but, would have renewed the same day the pack landed on my doorstep if I wasn't in the scheme.
  16. That sounds very close to the truth to me. Last year when they reduced the prices and reclassified parts of the ground so nearly everyone got some sort of refund i had to wait ages for mine (£136 so not to be sniffed at) and went into the ticket office a few times chasing it. The lad in the ticket office said to me then that we had 12K on the 3 year scheme and 35K ST holders in total to sort out which was why it was taking so long. 21K renewals in total including the 3 year people sounds about right imho. Would be amazed if it was 29K prior to any takeover. Ok, that makes the story quite plausable then. If we had 12k on three year deals and we know that a good number have cancelled their direct debits then 11k on automatic renewal makes sense. Need that take over to go through to spur some of you late renewers to get cracking!! I would hate the first home game of the season to be watched by anything less than 40k people!
  17. I was told by my mate, who plays golf with the guy that works on the ground staff team at Benton (I know!!!!) that there is about 11k people on the three year scheme that automatically renew and approx a further 10k people have returned their forms to renew making approx 21k season tickets sold so far, not great but, obviously not 100% guaranteed to be the positive truth. To be honest, the ticket office are probably still working through renewals so the true figure is probably no known.

Utter speculation. Is he really suggesting this has dragged on for weeks and weeks simply because they're 'combing through the books'? The papers know nowt, and anything Llambias and Harris say has to be taken with a pinch of salt because right now it's salesman talk. He was stating two important points though which are probably his own opinion but, in mine, very valid. 1) That whoever buys the club must understand what they are getting themselves into and be fully prepared for what needs to be done. 2) Llambias has behaved like a prick all the way through this saga giving soundbites to the press that do nothing to hlep the situation, in fact have the exact opposite effect!!

Nice point about Keith Harris being a professional and Derek Llambias being a moron! Good that the top end press is reflecting an opinion that most of the thinking fans on here have been saying for a while.
  20. Hardly idiots, they have every right to be frustrated with Ashley and his slowmo tactics, he seems hell bent on leaving a nasty legacy behind as he shuts the door on his way out. It is up to Shearer to get messages through to the players via Hughton. Pretty sure that this story is just journalist embellishment of what the writer believes is going on behind the scenes, after all the squad is currently in Ireland!

    RIP sale thread.

I was talking to someone who plays golf with a member of the ground staff at Benton, ok - I know it is like my mates mate knows the sister of.......... blah!! However, the story I heard was that absolutely no-one knows what is going on as far as the club staff are concerned, they haven't been briefed, spoken to, consulted or anything. I was told that no-one will even sign off a purchase order for a packet of grass seed at the moment, they aren't allowed to spend a bean, they are short on essential stuff at the training ground. The word within the club is utter shambles! Compare that to what the previous poster has written with all that optimism and somewhere between the two is probably what is actually happening.
  22. Wouldn't like to be him if he signs for another English club and ever comes to face us at St James' in the future.
  23. I have spoken to a few mates who are season ticket holders who feel the same way as others on here and would be fairly happy for the club to go into administration in order to piss Ashley off leaving him with a few pennies in the pound to show for his investment. That would leave the club open to be bought for a nominal fee by a new investor. That could be Freddie or someone entirely new. Personally I am not that happy at the thought of Shepherd coming back into the club, especially after the fiasco he reigned over last time he was in charge. We need a total rebuild and maybe that does mean administration and a fresh start. I do hope not though, it would be embarrassing for the fans and would put our clubs draw to incoming players on an all time low and let's face it the North East is not that great a draw for players when it is compared to our Nations glorious capital. We have the highest draw in the area currently - still even in the Championship I am sure players would prefer to play for us than the other North East options.
