  1. Sorry! I have nothing at all to bring to the table yet. The club is being really guarded with information regarding players who we are interested in. I just have confidence that it will come good.
  2. It doesn't really matter there is one fact in there that cannot be argued with which is that up until today no actual deals could have been done, only agreements in principle. The other point is subjective in that I believe that the people at the club are capable of running the club and a fully aware of what we need to compete in the Premier league. Whether it is at the top, the bottom or in the middle of the league is a matter for them to decide where they want to be. We all know what we want and I am pretty sure that is also what Ashley, Keegan, Wise et al are also wanting as well.
  3. The transfer window officially is now open so all the speculation and concerns of forum members can now be put to bed as business can officially start to happen. 100% confidence in the team at St James' to bring in what we need without going crazy and competing in the pricing bun fights that seem to go on in certain circles. Bring it on!!
  4. I am waiting to hear what is available for a voluntary move as well. I made it very clear in my accompanying letter that I sent with the forms (mine and my dads) that if we did not get a move to one of the six areas in the ground that I requested that we would not be renewing at all. Out of interest I put down the following areas: 1) Milburn Paddock - Catagory 1 cost (£658) 2) East Stand - Cat 1 area first followed by Cat 2 area (both £658) - specified as close to the back of this stand as possible due to the sun that shines over the Milburn Stand. 3) South West Corner - Catagory 4 (£543) 4) South East Corner - As above 5) Gallogate - Catagory 3 (£543) How do you rate the chances of getting into one of the preferred areas? I guess that I am really hoping for seats in the East Stand if I am honest.
  5. If it is true and he is out of jail already that is a travesty of justice and makes a mockery of this countries, already poor, justice system. If he is only given a suspended sentence for causing actual bodily harm to Dabo then, that again, makes the whole thing a farce. Whatever Keegan, Ashley or anyone has to say about him I personally, as a paying season ticket holder and lifelong supporter of NUFC, would far rather never see him play in Black & White again. Embarrassed!!!
  6. He is not really looking after the more affluent season ticket holders because members with so called "Premium Seats" such as Platinum Club and Sovereign Club have seen the biggest increases in cost this time round. Take your point about those who can afford to commit to 3 years getting a better deal than those who choose to spot buy but, that is the same in everything in life. Buy in bulk and save cost. It will be really interesting to see how many people are actually in the ground for the first home game of the season, typically one of the poorest turn out games of the season anyway (Bolton).
  7. He is supposed to be interested in buying them as they are about to go into administration and he spends most of the year living out there now as well. Was in todays Journal.
  8. Anyone know whether there is an organised trip to the Mallorca Tournament? Easy Jet have magically put their prices up for that weekend to around £100 our and £80 back, should be able to find cheap hotels in and around Magaluf though!!
  9. Me and my dad have had a ticket each in the Sovereign Club Bar area for a good few years now and each year the cost has increased by a few % until this year when it has rocketed to £990. That is too much so I have sent my renewal back with a note to move me to one of six preferred areas in the ground and if they are not available I have requested that they don't bother to renew our tickets. I predict that huge areas of the Milburn stand will be empty for several home games this year. £52 per game to buy a season ticket and who knows what they will charge for the seats on a game by game basis. I feel particularly sorry for the Platinum Club members as they had to pay a membership fee to get into that area in the first place and their tickets have gone up by over £200 for the season this year. Still not heard anything but, I suppose people who are being moved from the Leazes Level 7 will be getting the first choice of available seats in the ground before me and others who are wanting to move for other reasons. To be honest I am expecting to renew, just a hunch.

  11. Just about to write the same thing. Typical!!
  12. Everton supposed to be interested as well and without doubt Spuds will make a bid just in time to scupper one that we may or may not be going to make.
  13. I got my info in an e mail from Jan Brien who I think is the superviser in the Box Office. However, I don't think for sure that they really know what they are going to do. That said, until all the renewals are in they don't know what seats are going to become available so until that point they will not be able to offer any moves until they know which people wish to retain their current seats. After that they may use the date that the renewal was received to prioritise which forms they action first and so on................
  14. Keep an eye out on SS2 for the numerous repeats that they will be showing all week. Great show from Newcastle right up until the final when the old tired legs simply gave out and a slightly younger Boro ran rings round our defenders.
  15. bit harsh on those who had to wait almost an extra week to receive their forms then. still, i put mine in the post the same day i received it I know, people were saying from last Monday that they had received their packs yet I didn't get mine until Wednesday, I had it back in by Friday morning hand delivered so I know it is in their possession.
  16. Any requests to move seats or other changes will be dealt with on a first come first served basis meaning that those who got their renewals in the quickest have the best chance of getting something near to what they want. The prospect of a £50 - £60 price increase every year does not really appeal to me though, especially as everything else in life seems to be getting more expensive as well!!
  17. Arshavin supposed to be starting for Russia tonight against Sweden, worth another watch to see whether he is as good as he looked in the Uefa Cup Final.
  18. SSN today have said that REal Madrid have given Ronaldo assurances that they will pay his fines (from Man Utd) if he gets any by going on a protest to leave the club! Every summer there seems to be some disquiet about Ronaldo ensuring that the general football fans gives him a boo every time he touches the ball!! This time I think I might give him a cheer for fucking around Alex Fergusson and Man Utd!!

    Players in public

Not a Newcastle player but, I saw Gary Pallister at York races on Friday last week, having a few beers and a laugh with his mates. Never realised how tall he is!!
  20. Why are we away first and last game of the season? We had that arrangement last season as well. Bit unfair to get it like that again!
  21. If you want to be really cynical you could look at the offer to attract people to commit to their season ticket for the next three years as a ploy to give Newcastle United, as a business, a better sale-ability. Ashley has cleared the debt and made the club stable again, now he is securing income for the next three years making the club a nice "going concern" for anyone interested in buying it. On the other hand it also makes good financial sense for him as owner to know that his investment is safe and will increase in value.
  22. As I am intending to move to a different area of the ground I am not going to commit to 3 years in case I am not satisfied with the seat I get this time so I am just going to pay the single season rate and maybe commit to more as the new season starts. Although there is no option for that on the form I am pretty sure that they would not turn you down.
  23. If that is true I would be fairly happy. pennant is a bloody good player and can actually cross the ball, something that Milner seems to be able to do only on occasions! Wonder whether Keegan is thinking of using Pennant as the creative midfield player in a midfield 3?? Just looking forward to seeing some players coming in rather than going out at the moment though!!
  24. He said he is a student and they have brought out special rates for them because they are so poor!
