A lot is made, in media circles, about the fact that we haven't won anything for 50+ years but, I guess the fans' expectations at Newcastle coupled with our very successful history is to blame for that. Look at Aston Villa, they have almost as big a gap between their last trophy as we have had (even without the mini European success we had with the Fairs and Texaco trophies in the 70's) but, they are not being lambasted for it season after season. I would love to see us win something but, I fear I will have to be satisfied with our mid 90's mini successes in coming 2nd a couple of times and the FA Cup semi finals, the Charity Shield defeat in Shearers first season, the Cardiff appearences. All those nearly's have distroyed my optimism I am afraid.

I have signed up for the direct debit and do not intend to cancel, maybe I am stupid but, I just support Newcastle........ Anyway that wasn't my point! The direct debits were supposed to start on 10th Feb and to date they haven't taken any money! Wonder if I am going to get a further discount and they are waiting to work out the details??? Hopes in vain!

The only critisism I ever had on Harper was that he often took ages to release the ball, especially when their was a chance of a break on but, he seems to have sorted that, at least he was very sharp against the mackems on Sunday.

Apparently there was a backlog of registrations for the FA to ratify caused by the volume of transactions and the shortage of staff caused by FA staff not getting into work due to the weather. However, every other deal managed to be finalised except this one and it has taken until late this afternoon to finalise?? Smells a bit arsey to me!!

maybe Nicky Butt is living on his reputation at Newcastle, he was at one time, a bloody good player. At some point people need to realise that it is game over and their level is now a lot lower than it once was.

just need JFK to sign his 3 year deal to top it all off If Kinnear had a contract offered to him he would be stupid not to sign it as it would guarentee his money whether he was sacked or stayed. I think he hasn't got an offer and was told to annouce that he had to gauge fans reaction, it is clear what everyone thinks of that!!

You do realise that after the 1st of Feb you are legally obliged to pay the payments as the debt is no longer with Newcastle United FC but, with a holding company that pays the club the full amount (less a comission) then collects the monies back from you the punter!! You may find that you start to get some legal mail requesting the money followed by a knock on the door................. Plus, come on, are you a fan of newcastle only when things are going well? You should be ashamed of yourself!! I would go and support my team no matter what league we were in, I have been down to the bottom of Div 2 with Newcastle as well as 2nd in the prem, all good times!! Look inside yourself, are you a supporter or just a glory boy?

Today at lunchtime in Yo Sushi at Fenwicks; Jonas Guttierez with an older gent and girl (both of South American appearance) enjoying a very tasty looking lunch.

When the away fans were housed in the North East Corner I can remember some great chants going back and forth, one match particularly when we played Arsenal (lost 1 - 0 to an Ian Wright goal - quite some time ago then!) they were singing about Shearer who had just come back from injury - something like "he's only got one leg" and straightaway the Leazes came back with "he only needs one leg" the Arsenal fans stood up and applauded. Not necesarilly the best chant but, I seem to remember it because I saw it as a mark of respect to us and to Shearer!

Sky TV announce a new feature via the RED button; "Barton Cam"....... Watch him going about his every day life, maybe, just maybe he will do something that you can all become really annoyed about, then we could write a strongly worded letter demanding action!!
