  1. Some of the papers are reporting that Poyet has met officials of NUFC yesterday, mmm. Just a thought from me. When Poyet was with Wise at Leeds, albeit the 3rd division, Leeds stormed up the league, winning their first so many games and only really started to flounder after Poyet left to join Spurs, whose season took a turn for the better once Poyet arrived. I happen to think that he (Poyet) would make a very decent coach and while he would never ignite the fans and gain any great love I feel he would quietly plod along making us a decent club and interesting to watch play (again).
  2. Bit of a mixed reaction but, it seems that most people do not want to boycott any games, which is completely fair enough like - reaction has completely shifted from last week when everybody wanted the world to know that they were pissed off and prepared to do anything to prove it!! Personally I don't want to boycott any matches either, my point was that for those who still wanted that type of protest the Spurs game would have been the better one to exercise that right at rather than a one that was already paid for and covered by the season ticket. I still haven't applied for my ticket for this match, I have a feeling that I am going to apply, just wanted to test general opinion on here to see what others were planning to do. Who's going? Who's not (for any reason)?
  3. We have all paid for our season tickets already, missing the Hull match, walking out or whatever only hurts us and the team - who still need us!!! There is a match coming up where the club relies on season ticket holders and the public to pay extra (apart from those with cup tickets in their package). Surely this is the game to avoid, I mean the closing date for season ticket applications is 11th Sept, this week. If people haven't applied for their seats by the end of this week then a huge message is sent to the club and more importantly Ashley. Usually I would not hesitate in getting a ticket for this, I love beating the Spuds but, this time I am not going to go, plus it's on tele!! Maybe a poll would be relevent here, a) Going, b) not going

    Amazing. Giggedy Goo, allllright!!
  5. 80's Keegan talking about his wife. He says he abuses her - context totally removed and actually brought a smile to my miserable face!!

    E-mail...

They did mention that they had received a load of e mails telling them that the mob of mongs outside St James' were not representative of Newcastle fans generally. So glad they squeezed that one in, laughed my cock off when the news flash banner changed to Newcastle United announce that Keegan has NOT been sacked.
  7. What time did the Barton bid come in, was it around 11pm?
  8. That doesn't sound at all like the Tony Jiminez that I know. Ok, I don't know him so I don't know whether it is true. Just wrote it to see if anyone wanted to make a comment.
  9. I have just heard that there was a furious row between Keegan and Jiminez last night regarding the Barton proposed transfer, almost fists, Jiminez agreed the deal to sell Barton before consulting with Keegan and when Keegan found out he lost it. Fair enough after all the public support Keegan has given Barton it would look really odd to sell him at the last knock of the transfer window. This info has came from a friend who knows the agent who managed to screw up the Benjani deal last January and is connected at Portsmouth so shoot me now for being an ITK and a friend of a friend etc. Anyway it finished with it's either him or me, this town ain't big enough for the both of us etc etc. Keegan lost! Could have been sacked for gross misconduct if he went to strike a colleague meaning that he also would not be entitled to have his contract paid up either........... This has every chance of being way wide of the mark but, thought I would type it out to see whether there is any other comment, other than "here we go again ITK" of course.
  10. Your guess is as good as ours right now. Nothing official but, the longer it drags on without any sort of statement from the club the less likely it is that Keegan is still in charge!
  11. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7593683.stm "Newcastle have picked up only 4 points from their first 3 games" Fuck me, a point at Old Trafford, a home win and a defeat at The Emerates is hardly a bad start to the season!!
  12. If this is really happening and being played out like a soap opera on Sky Sports News then it is a disaster, it is exactly what everyone said would happen if we appointed Keegan again, he would walk (or be sacked) within a year. We are just playing straight into the media's hands again!! Just like when we sell a player we all hope there is a replacement lined up and there never is, this will prove to be the same. How the fuck Ashley has managed to be such a successful business man I will never know, if he runs his businesses in the same way he has appeared to run NUFC then he should be living in a hole in the ground without a penny to scratch his arse with.
  13. All SSN are focussing on is Berbatov, having said that there is bot all else going on at the moment.
  14. bbc.co.uk/football will give you the games as they are drawn live.
  15. And a negative reaction could lead to him giving up, sulking and generally being a disruptive influence behind the scenes.
  16. Just another thought on Milner's position at the club now. Next home game, assuming he is still here, he will be shitting himself over what sort of fans reaction he is going to get following this news breaking. If it is, as most people seem to think, just a ploy to open talks for better salary (which I am sure goes on all the time!) I think it is important that the fans show that we still want him here and want him to continue with the same level of effort that he has always shown. I personally would give him a solid and positive welcome onto the field and hope that everyone else does the same.
  17. Ok, only read them for the forst time this morning. Fair enough. Still not the best of news though!!
  18. NUFC.COM - Quoting Keegan on a few things I noted this little comment as he is starting to appear to prepare the fans for the fact that no-one is coming into the club this week!! Not really what anyone wants to hear the day after the "big meeting" with the directors. If this is the case and no-one is lined up to join us then it is even more important that Milner doesn't leave the club.
  19. Have a read of the piece on nufc.com and their opinion of the whole scenario, I think they have just about summed things up perfectly when you consider that Milner is on less that £30k per week and plays his heart out week in week out, granted his final product is not great but, he can only get better, while other players are on double his salary purely on reputation from their previous clubs and do fuck all for us. Milner is a player we should be looking to keep and further develop. It would make me really mad to see him in 5 years time playing for another club as one of the best English players in the Premier League, quite possible in my opinion............
  20. Am I reading that right? Slightly contridicting I think, either 5 days is long enough or 5 days isn't and I am not sure which you are saying. Sorry?
  21. Is it about jan when the Premier League clubs join the competition?
