mackems vs. Newcastle United: 14/12/25 @ 14:00 (Sky Sports)

While I agree in theory, a routine away win is extremely rare for us in any game. -
Erm, why? Surely some players will always have different attributes to others? Weird point TBH.
-
It’s a big game but not everything. I don’t give Sunderland a second thought for 99% of the season. Certainly not anywhere near the mental implications that Dokko was suggesting. Agreed I luckily don’t interact with their fans on a daily basis.
-
Aye totally agree, I just think we thought he was a scouse rat before he signed and that hasn’t entirely gone away. If he reaches his full potential I think he could play for anybody. Question has been why he can’t do it consistently at the moment. But last couple of weeks very encouraging.
-
Nah I know, the point was about whether he’d be just as good on the right. It wouldn’t even be a debate if Gordon hadn’t picked up his game in the last couple of weeks. Otherwise Barnes is clearly the better choice. I think Gordon in theory has more to his game though, and I do rate Barnes.

Fabian Schär - signs a one year contract extension on reduced terms (Official)

I'm not sure the penny needs to drop TBH, it's just that they've generally played so well that we've been able to prioritise other signings. We needed a whole new squad and we still haven't fully replaced everyone that is below the ultimate level we need. -

Most games I'm just going in thinking how class it is to be on this ride TBH Think it'll take a good decade for me to forget about Mike Ashley. -
It's just the practicality of cutting in on his weaker foot I guess, his shots would be downgraded.

Yeah they do, arguments for both, I just think it's likely we might decide he's a decent option if it's going to be a combative game. -
Yeah, time I liked him most when he was getting the ball and driving from deeper down that left channel. Maybe with Gordon and Hall it’s not such a need now, dunno.

You don’t think the nature of this game justifies having him in? -
Which he absolutely will do.
-
I think finding a way to use him when we have the ball is a challenge for us. Right now he seems to move forward into the inside left channel and the ball never comes anywhere near him.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed
AyeDubbleYoo replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Can’t see him being the answer sadly, even though he’s a decent player and his passing is very good. We need a level above, which won’t be easy to find. I would keep him as backup and let Pope go if it works for everyone. But I’m not leaning towards starting next season with Rambo as number one. -

Think we were slightly unlucky to draw but it’s class to be involved in these matches. We’re just not quite at the level where we can win them comfortably. -
Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)
AyeDubbleYoo replied to Ronson333's topic in Football
Still we need to be patient and not necessarily rush him. Very few 19 year olds start regularly in any top league. He’s class though. -
Don’t think he’ll ever do that as an inverted winger/forward. At least 70% of his instincts will be coming inside to shoot. That’s what he’s meant to do.
-
I see that argument but Gordon was looking very sharp and arguably our best attacking player. I think we’re just a bit stuck that our best 2 wingers play LW and the options on the other side are looking not great.
-
The lass cheating analogy makes no sense. I mean, I agree if he loses the derby on purpose he should be sacked, but I feel that’s unlikely
-
Wasn’t it just because Barnes and Gordon are our most threatening wingers at the moment?

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Newcastle United: 10/12/25 @ 20:00 (TNT Sport)

No buildup on TNT? Both channels talking about Arsenal -
Yeah, I think it's the window that people remember more than the specific signing. Average isn't too bad for an NUFC signing of that period TBF.
-
IIRC at the time we signed him we really needed some proper reinforcements and Big Ashley didn't fancy any more signings.
