Broken record but we signed him because we needed more goals in the forward line, and that’s what we’re going to get.
-
I’d just finished saying how bad the sub was when he raced through and created the winner
-
As a confirmed hater, I thought he had quite a good game at times. Will always have those horrific moments where he does things that no other PL midfielder can do, but did some good things as well.

Think we just about deserved to win that. Had a really terrible spell after their goal (which in itself seemed soft) but IMO it was the fragile confidence that emerged and not because Spurs were better. Always thought we could get a second, although obviously they could too. Massive win in the end, great start to the season points-wise.

It’s a cautious team but it’s not surprising. Just hope we don’t come under too much pressure, I don’t think their front line is the most athletic for the press. -

Van der Ven their biggest defence against quick attackers, so that would be great. Pedro Porro is a worry, coming into that space between the left midfielder and the defence, but I guess Joelinton will be detailed to help out as much as he can. Let's batter these! -

Yeah but they always have Son. -
I don’t know what the rule is now.
-
Well we’re currently 6th so make of that what you will.

I always thought stopping a counter was a yellow, but they seem to have gone easier on it recently.

Stay vigilant.

Very good. Based on the commentary.
-
Why is it harsh?

Listening on the radio and it sounds like a correct decision.

So many people seem jealous of Brighton but if we were starting some of the players they are we would be ripping the club to shreds.

Well Schar will be back very soon. -
Nice to see Trossard get a game.

You don’t have to admit anything of the sort.

Martial’s such a weird player, talented but always seems miserable and never does what he seems capable of. Must be a mental thing I guess.

Not sure about Tino LB but I’d like to see Kelly given a go at CB. -
Paul Mitchell to leave club by mutual consent at end of June (Official)

My assumption is that the model isn't really in place yet. The second part isn't what I meant. I meant that if Howe doesn't have as much control over recruitment as he would ideally want, he has total control over his preferred activity (coaching). If you asked any manager if they want total power over everything, I'm sure they would mostly say they do. but most of the modern ones are clever enough to work in a new model. I don't think there are many, if any, elite sports club where the first-team manager is all-powerful over the organisation. -

While this is possible, Howe is young and very intelligent. Football is going a certain way and I don't see him being someone who'll cut his nose off to spite his face. I'd expect him to take the option of learning how to work in the new environment. He always says he relies on coaching a lot more than recruitment.
