2 for sure I agree, depends on his mindset I suppose. For 1, I'm not sure how much it affects us because even next summer he will still have 2 years left and we don't have to accept a reduced bid anyway. Suppose it depends on the amount of the clause.

TBH we shouldn't be giving him a new deal. Maybe next summer if he decides to stay long-term. But now you'd just be wasting money and losing him next summer anyway.

He has two younger brothers who are players so maybe it’s just their thing.

I'd say the optics of selling Isak are just as problematic as the optics of making him stay. Players will think we're not serious about keeping our best players and building a squad to challenge the top 3.

Surely this is done barring the formalities, as with Ramsey people are trying to sound clever or more discerning by saying how it's not done.
