Clearly nothing to do with the fact he stuggles to correctly make contact with the ball. I wish we'd stop making elaborate excuses for players who simply aren't very good and don't have the talent to surpass that. I wish we'd stop writing players off after hardly giving them a chance.

I think the Hansen thing is unfortunate, because it shows that either he's never been told that the word is unacceptable now, or he doesn't care enough about other people's feelings to change his behaviour. Doesn't mean he's "racist" but it's an example of the fact we still have a lot to do to tackle all these issues. Watching Dixon and Lineker react was hilarious though.

Has anyone mentioned the amount of times Alan Hansen referred to "coloured players" on MOTD? Not a major issue like, but weird to hear that on the telly.

I was all for signing Long during the summer but pretty much everyone disagreed with me. I was with you brother. Always thought Long at all the attributes to do well in this league, he's quality and amazingly fast and fit (not in a gay way).

Get lost. He's probably right. Good education, speaks five languages, middle-class background. None of this makes him a good footballer, but I think he can apply himself to alter his game and improve still. Also think the criticism he gets is way over the top at times. Just wonder whether he over-thinks things and has difficulty playing on instinct and getting in the zone at times. He doesn't seem an aggressive or confident lad to me.

Not convinced that it's a good idea to play HBA on the right, but it might be time to give it a try at least. With Vuckic playing well too.

He's probably our most intelligent player off the pitch TBH, he just struggles to use his brain at the right times in games. He doesn't seem a confident person to me, maybe that's his problem.
