We mismanaged him more than he mistreated us IMO. As for the Wigan situation now, if everyone at the club knows he's leaving then I don't think it's a major problem for him to say so. He's only stating facts - Wigan are always fighting relegation.

Selling him for a couple of million right now would be absolutely criminal IMO. Why not loan him out and see how he performs in a tough league with regular football?

He also says he wants a club who "can play in Europe" - not sure if that's lost in translation but it could mean he just doesn't want to be battling relegation any more and his new club doesn't necessarily have to be in Europe right now.

Yeah, but let's face it, we all know managers aren't 100% in control of the clubs finances and therefore contracts they offer.

Did this team have many media darlings? I can only think of Lampard really, and maybe Walcott (but do the medis like him?) Guess you could argue about Terry and Cole, but most people would say they're the best options in their position at the moment.
