I’d say he’s the weakest member of the first team now. Not sure he’s even really good enough to be on the bench for a CL team if we’re being totally honest. What people say about the homegrown thing is true, but I would be absolutely fine with selling him if we had a plan for the midfield. Not that I believe anything in the papers about transfers.

I’m not sure if that because of any particular player though, or because of the system. If you commit to closing people down and pressing high up, surely there’ll always be the potential to be bypassed? Unless you don’t press with everyone, which just makes it less likely your press will work. As you can tell I’m not a manager, but I don’t think it’s a simple balance to strike.

I couldn’t work out what he had done but I knew he’d placed it brilliantly. The way he uses the full goal with confidence is pretty unique. Maybe someone like Luiz Suarez is the last similar finisher I can remember.

Yeah, I was never worried. Just looking at the space Bruno had told me we would win easily. I didn’t know who their players were before the game and I basically still don’t.

I love Miggy, you just need to understand that he’s not a fine margins delivery kind of player. If he was he would be world class and playing right at the very top. But the energy and drive he gives is very useful and shouldn’t be underestimated. Of course it’s best when we’re on top and we’re not relying on him to finish our one chance.
