  1. I wouldn't begrudge Shay a move to a real top club, but if he moves to Spurs I'll be livid.
  2. When's his loan contract at Wigan up? Tbh, if we've got £8-10m and we're looking at Wigan, we should be paying for their manager imo. *tin-hat* I think in the summer, his club have said nobody has first refusal and they will favour the highest bidder I think.
  3. He would be really useful, but as above I'll believe it when I see it. I've basically forgotten that him and Smith are Newcastle players. Only one of them I'd like to remember as well!
  4. If we get 8-10m for him we should be right up there in the Zaki auction.
  5. You're right, any player would be well within their rights to look elsewhere at this point. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll be anywhere near sold by Christmas.
  6. The Chronicle aren't there to question any Newcastle manager, they're there to suck him off on demand.
  7. There don't seem to be as many lobs as there were, that's always struck me as weird. Goals seem to be more smashed or whipped in rather than floated in the manner of a Cantona or Albert effort...
  8. Jeez, didn't think it was possible to live that far from a football club!
  9. I actually have physical hatred for Sam Allardyce now, it's ridiculous. Not only was he a shit manager that believes in anti-football, but every time he opens his mouth he makes himself look more of a pathetic, desperate nob.
  10. He's not going to be an asset that anyone is going to pay much money for though is he? He would have to transform his whole fitness record to be a worthwhile addition on the wages he commands.
  11. Internet journalism is mental as well, the BBC do the same thing with changing and updating stories that are wrong, rather than publishing new ones. Very dodgy, and a very good way to hide shite journalism and speculation.
  12. I can't see him leaving in January to be honest, it's already too late to get a decent price for him in the last year of his contract - if we wanted to do that we should have sold him last January or this summer.
  13. What does Dennis Wise being here have to do with it? They're employing someone solely to take care of the sale of Michael Owen?
  14. Why on earth would he leave Sunderland now? Don't think they're in a bad enough state to sack him are they?
  15. I'm not sure, he hasn't proved his fitness to the extent that any big teams will want him. Man Utd have too many forwards, Chelsea have Anelka being reborn, I doubt Liverpool would have him back, and Arsenal don't entertain poachers. If we stay up I'm starting to think he might stay for a while, can't see where else he could go. I suppose he could negotiate a lucrative move to the Middle East or the US if he wasn't bothered about his career.
  16. Pathetic to see Lampard coming out saying he hopes Drogba isn't banned. Fair enough to say the fan is also to blame, but to say Drogba should avoid punishment is ridiculous.
  17. Er no, one specific fan threw the coin and he threw it at random into the group - probably hitting an innocent person. Completely unacceptable (as is the fan obviously).
  18. Rate Xisco's superhero tshirt, wonder where that one's from?
  19. Where I am now: 222.05 miles PR Newcastle United Football Club :-[
  20. I would agree if you could throw at specifically the right fan, but just to throw it at random is mental. Can't guarantee I wouldn't do it out of sheer anger, but it makes no kind of sense. At least Cantona jumped on the right bloke!
  21. My proper home in Gateshead: 2.85 miles PR Newcastle United 8.63 miles PR Sunderland AFC 22.99 miles Hartlepool United Where I'm living down south at the moment: 22.46 miles L2 Wycombe Wanderers 25.58 miles L1 Swindon Town 26.90 miles PR Reading No Gateshead or Oxford listed, I guess the leagues are too low. BTW, anyone with over 3 miles from SJP should leave the forum now
  22. Barton's career would be over if he did that IMO.
  23. You'd be right, but then Chelsea realised he was past his best and sold him to us.
  24. Just picked up on this thread, but Dyer was actually quite and important player for us, where Duff is a waste of skin.
  25. It is far too tight at this point to say who might go down. We're in the mix but no more likely than anyone else in the bottom half. After two decent wins we were on the up and now after a tight defeat away at Fulham we're a 'good shout to go down'?
