Yeah, but how many Bellamys, Roberts and Dyers have we got either? Talented players who couldn't give a stuff about the club. I would give a lot for a couple of those right now, and potentially Zog is one of them.
-
Mate, there isn't any other logical explanation! I can't think of a reason either, but I can't believe there can be a clause like that!
-
This is pretty much what I reckon, fans tend to rate commitment/loyalty far too highly and don't realise that talent is really the biggest factor in success. Also, we have the problem that our most loyal players are also generally our worst!
-
I'd say our problems are more down to the shattered confidence than any lack of commitment and/or loyalty. Yes, our players aren't dyed-in-the-wool Geordies and most probably don't 'love' the club, but I bet with a few wins behind them and a few new additions they would be performing 10 times better. We wouldn't be raising this issue if we were doing well.

I really don't know what to do with myself tonight, not sure I can even listen to this one! :-[

Emre and Martins playing key parts in goals!

It's a bit obscene as well to be honest, Drogba throwing his money about like that when ordinary fans are scraping the money to buy a shirt for their kids.

Currently I'm terrified, I'm nearly always optimistic when it comes to football but now dealing with the very real possibility that we will be playing in the championship next season. I do see improvements in the performances though, and I think we can do it if we take points of the other strugglers we are facing next. To be honest, I'm trying not to think about it...

I reckon if we stay up it's a fresh start for everyone, including KK. And if we go down, well that speaks for itself, if KK can't get us to finish about one out of Reading, Bolton, Mackems, Wigan and Birmingham then I'm not sure I'll be able to stay behind him for long

Is this friend an expert on the Senegal national squad, or just a cock?
-
Yep, I didn't mean milk specifically, or even Tesco! What I was saying was that the club is the business and we are the customers... no ownership is implied.
-
How can you respect a cunt like that? He stands for everything I hate about the game right now! Can't wait until he fucks off, then see the rats desert the sinking ship. I don't lilke him much as a person either, but you can't argue with what he's acheived. And if Man Utd do decline when he retires, that will only prove how pivotal he was to their success.
-
Saying the supporters own the club is a bit like saying people who buy milk own Tesco, I'm afraid
-
I used to despise Fergie too, but I've grown to respect him. If anything, Wenger gets on my nerves more! Not that I've been thinking about them much recently, much more concerned with Megson, Coppell and Bruce...
-
I agree in a way, same is true of rugby union (more so in fact) - 10 years ago the players looked like normal people, now they look more like body builders. Just hope it doesn't eventually breed out the skill and we don't see any more Beardsleys and Waddles.
-
This is class, nice to have a bit of a mood-lightener KK should definitely ditch the tracksuit on matchdays!
-
He's a knob, but I don't think you can blame him for web site errors!
-
Not as exciting as some, but not necessarily worse either.

A few? I could name 2 teams full of flops he's signed quite easily. I think Arsene Wenger is the best manager in the world in the last 30 years quite comfortably. There have been many great managers, Capello, Fergie, Rinus Michels, Sacchi, but can any of them say they've been succesful playing beautiful expansive football alligned with actually being in the black on transfer dealing over a decade??!?!? Can any of them say they've went a whole season unbeaten as well as building not one, two, but three succesful teams, as well as utterly changing the culture of training and dieting not just at one club, but one which has been adopted across the board. If there's ever been a better manager than Wenger I'm yet to see or know of him. Ferguson of course is a great manager, he did it with Aberdeen as well, but Wenger for me has the edge. I wasn't aguing who was better, just saying that Fergie does obviously know how to replace players and rebuild a successful team.
-
Tell us what you really think!
-
Fergie struggles to replace? Yes, he's had a few transfer misses but he's built at least 2 or 3 distinct world-class teams.

Until the panel is the same every week we will get no consistency. Personally, I don't believe there should be any right of appeal against the decision of the matchday official. Only serves to undermine their authority. Just accept the decision and get on with it.

I just love these hindsight merchants. The vast majority of the clubs supporters - and on here - fully supported the sales of all these 4 players. And for what its worth, I agreed with the sale of Jeanarse and the sale of Dyer, being a massively underachieving prick for the club, who had pace but ended up with a terrible attitude whereby he was just no use to us anymore. I would not have sold Robert and Bellamy though, particularly Bellamy, and I had loads of grief for saying so at the time on here too. There is no hindsight here mate. Like SBR, a true football genius, I defended Dyer and Jenas while they were here because I rated their ability and athleticism, while narrow-minded cunts (no one in specific I should add) carried out hate campaigns online and offline which made it inevitable they would leave. I said so at the time, if you like, I can find the posts, assuming they are still searchable. well, as has been said by others, selling Jeanarse was a good deal at the time. He had no future at Newcastle left, and neither did Dyer. Having ability is a totally different thing to performing and showing it. In both of their cases, they were shot, didn't produce anymore and weren't going to. Also, we don't see them every week so they seem better than they are. Witness people bigging-up Titus Bramble this season
-
Well yeah, but it'll only be good if we get wins. If we go down it will fucking devastating. I'd much rather be 9th now and getting meaningless wins.
-
The wrong time to drop Owen IMO, he's been getting in good positions and is just a bit of luck away from winning us some games.
