  1. Spot on. We had a team that was a lot worse than the sum of its parts. Mainly because the things we needed were never added to the qualities we had.
  2. I was thinking about going as well
  3. He will do it in the Premiership eventually, it just might not be next season with Newcastle. If he ends up not succeeding early then it will be much more difficult to resist the urge to replace him with a 'proven' striker bargain signing.
  4. He's hardly 'entirely to blame', that would be to suggest he came into the club with everything financially OK. Which he clearly didn't.
  5. Truth, he seems to be learning that we can just go out and try to beat teams in this division. `His dropping of Smith is a good sign... even though I hate Nolan, Hughton has realised that we don't need that dedicated defensive midfield player.
  6. I still haven't seen him put in a consistently good performance really.
  7. I know what you mean, but Forest seem to have dropped all their cooking utensils on the floor and everything in the kitchen has gone off. The chances of them producing a decent pie of any variety are minimal.
  8. Aside from the age 17 point, which is like 'well of course, thats obvious' I don't think that's true. He'd just get a different kind of stick, more the Xisco kind of stick. No, there’s a definite section of our support who believe foreign kids must be world beaters in the making and local lads must be shite. Works equally the other way IMO. Steven Taylor was given a much longer stay of execution than a foreign defender of his early ability would have been.
  9. I think even SSN got it wrong for a while, I texted my brother that the second goal had gone in and he thought it was 3-0. Even the stadium announcer said it was a goal at first. By the way, was it really offside?
  10. Definitely, a good opportunity to make the GD even better if we don't slack off.
  11. This should be a raping of the most animalistic kind with that line up. [/famouslastwords]
  12. I'm going to both of those so I hope you're right!
  13. Come to think of it that doesn't happen to me very often either... I'll have to look at the fixtures to see if it's still possible this season.
  14. Yes, but four wrongs don't make a right!
  15. Definitely Fulham, even though they're small they have a long history and a great little ground. I would probably get rid of Spurs, but just because I dislike them. When I first started to get properly into football Swindon and Oldham had spells in the Prem, wouldn't mind seeing them back! Also, would love to see the old Wimbledon.
  16. Hopefully he'll back in the Premiership soon.... managing newcastle!!!!
  17. Does "Stevie G" not have diplomatic immunity from the FA or something?
  18. Goes for 90% of players though, no?

    Phil Brown

Where is Goals on Sunday filmed BTW? Looks like downtown Baghdad in the back of that shot.
  20. He was getting in the way of progress towards the end of his career, but he still brought us some amazing memories and will forever be a legend.
  21. Yes, thanks Chris, and as a thank you we've given your job to someone else.
