  1. Has there? I got the impression that team spirit was pretty good. Yes there has. Well thanks for clearing that up.
  2. Think that's a bit much. There have been training ground bustups since time immemorial, young men with too much money and big egos playing in a business where their careers are short and passions run high. FFS, I've had heated arguments with people on my 5-a-side team, it's just a part of football. Obviously it never comes to blows, but the A-Train and S Taylor are both nob heads, let's face it. Nothing to do with 'lily-livered liberals™' or 'political correctness gone mad®'. You're right about the effects though, it's the clulb/fans that will suffer.
  3. Has there? I got the impression that team spirit was pretty good.
  4. No sympathy for the club, but loads for the fans. Also, Avram Grant has started to get really annoying with his "football should be decided on the pitch not in an office" line... completely ignoring the fact that Pompey would probably have been relegated a long time ago if they hadn't been recklessly overspending.
  5. Word up. People I speak to think I have an irrational dislike of Nolan. Truth is, he's not very good.
  6. A bit mental that nearly 10% of people think that Steven Gerrard is the best player in the world!
  7. As everyone on here knows I am a massive fan of Messi and I think he is brilliant and there's no doubt he's the best player in the world. However I find that statement absolutely incredible. Why is it so far fetched though? He's young, he's playing in an era of fast, physical football and you've admitted he's the best player in the world right now.
  8. I always assumed it was Messi, but I don't watch foreign football enough to have an opinion on this really. In Britain it's Rooney ATM.
  9. Aye, better than 90% of professional pundits and journalists.
  10. Also, in certain games we were getting results even with long ball tactics, so a new manager like Hughton might be (understandably) reluctant to change things. Whatever the reason, I'm pleased to see the long ball used less.
  11. Seems we're instructed to pass it out from the back more recently, a massive improvement on lumping it up front. Credit to Hughton for that.
  12. He's definitely getting better at striking the ball, both on passes and crosses. There'll always be dodgy moments from him, he runs around so much that often he's hitting a pass when off balance, in very little space or knackered from a 40-yard run.
  13. All he needs to do is stop backing off like he's terrified. On Saturday there were another couple of defenders to cover for him if he got beat, and he just allowed the guy to run to edge of the box, cut inside and shoot. It was basically one on three in our favour, a shot should never have come in. I think Simpson might make a good player, but he's not one at the moment.
  14. Jonas needs to get wider, no idea why he's playing so far infield. It's not been great, but no reason we can't score two goals here. Except maybe Leon Best.
  15. I really do think 3D is a craze, and if it eventually takes off we're talking a good number of years. Most people don't even have HD, some people in my family don't even have digital.
  16. Is he actually right footed? That would explain how his crossing from the left has been less than great.
  17. I really like Colo at the moment, and Enrique. Colo probably just edges it because of his comedy hair. Carroll will obviously become a legend if he continue to progress.
  18. Spot on. We had a team that was a lot worse than the sum of its parts. Mainly because the things we needed were never added to the qualities we had.
  19. I was thinking about going as well
  20. He will do it in the Premiership eventually, it just might not be next season with Newcastle. If he ends up not succeeding early then it will be much more difficult to resist the urge to replace him with a 'proven' striker bargain signing.
  21. He's hardly 'entirely to blame', that would be to suggest he came into the club with everything financially OK. Which he clearly didn't.
