I couldn't believe it either TBF, everyone just slotting their finishes in the bottom corner with ease.

On co-commentary (and commentary really) the bad ones are ones who judge the action, and the good ones are the ones who just describe it. The most annoying thing is the "terrible pass by..." and "lovely play by..." and "he has to do better there..." etc. Really annoying and adds nothing, the point should be to explain things that the average viewer can't appreciate.
-
Ah well sure, if they're better ex-pros. My point was that whoever they get should know about football tactics and be able to explain why something happened in the game they're watching. Just being an ex-pro doesn't really guarantee that. Fair point about instant reaction KI, interesting to see how those people would do in a live situation.
-
That's the point though, isn't it? Ex-pros don't really know enough about what's happening in a football game to educate the viewer. They just did their job and now they're on TV because their name is known.

His real personality is much more likeable than some of his on-field behaviour has been. He seems a really intelligent and honest player, he would be great mates with Eddie Howe IMO.

The England job is a load of crap for an elite manager. It’s for people who don’t want to put the work in at the top level.
-
Listening to the podcast, man this guy is a class act in every sense of the word. I’m sure some other managers have similar thoughts and styles, but to have it explained first-hand is fantastic. Stay for life please Eddie.

Don’t think he really know where his defensive headers are going either, but at least he wins them. Classic 50p head.

I’m not sure if it’s a natural consequence or if it’s just that media is extremely slow to modernise and prioritise things like tactical knowledge. I’d rather have a football analyst on Sky than an ex-player, for example. For a rich, elite league which is the national sport, the general quality of punditry is appalling in the UK.

I think Trippier should start at RB for England, it’s a waste to put him on the left.
-
Well taken goal, not a great sign for a defence when you’re allowing that. Happy for him, he’s not that bad.

Adams can be dangerous, hopefully the Great Wall of Tyneside can nullify him. -

I think you might be right there. -
I see what you’re saying, but I’m also worried about having a #1 keeper who has so many rushes of blood to the head in his game. It doesn’t seem to cost England, but it’s not a positive trait to have.

Carragher is good in the studio but talks endless drivel as a co-commentator.

Guess they stopped getting battered every week.

Both are FIFA wonder-kid signings, funny to see them turn up in the actual PL. -
You can’t sit in the family section without a child TBF.

That doesn't make sense, sorry.

I don't think he's great but he is a left back. Kind of.

Oh.
