Think it’s very harsh to say the window was a failure. We can only sign so many players and we should be starting with Joelinton, Bruno and Tonali in midfield with Willock and Longstaff as options (amongst others). No realistic window could have insured us against events of this season.

Exactly. It's a compounding effect as well - the more injuries we got, the worse the options were, the more people might play when they would otherwise rest.

The stadium isn't a factor in what has happened to atmosphere so far, as you say. I do think a new design could either contribute or detract to a certain extent though, but aye it's not the most important thing.

Does anyone prefer stadium food? I think we were more talking about the kinds of things a PL club would expect to provide, mainly for the club to make more money. I don't buy anything in there except the odd (horrible) coffee. I don't think we're saying anyone should skip their delicious restaurant lunch to buy wet chips from SJP. (Of course the food and drinks don't have to be bad and overpriced, but that's another story)

Thanks for tolerating me I think one season fighting relegation, one season top 10, one season Europa, one season CL is much better progress than almost any club could ever show. The point is that he couldn't have come in expecting instant CL every year. We still have half a championship-level squad.

According to a lot of people our season is over and I've still had 3 ballot failures each for West Ham and Everton in what could be considered fairly unattractive fixtures. For me it really depends on season tickets, how many more we could sell. I'm thinking you could probably sell 20 or 30k, then you have to have some for corporate and general sale. So that would take you to 80k ish. It probably won't always be full for early league cup fixtures, but that's about it.

To be fair I go in mega-early but I just go straight to my seat.

If I was someone else, I don't think he's a good buy for £25m or higher. You could probably get one of the Blackburn midfielders that bossed him for that. Prices are always a bit random but I don't think he can form part of a reliable PL midfield unless his colleagues are extremely fit and fast. And even then he will give the ball away because of his lack of technical quality, balance and agility. That said, I'm not against keeping him as a squad player as long as he doesn't start too much and the options around him are better.
