I think it's pretty clear we're speculating, don't see the problem with debating whether a queen tribute would be a good idea.

He'll be gone soonish, just a matter of how many windows it takes to upgrade everyone. You can't accommodate someone who is so unreliable, except maybe as 3rd choice or so. Not sure how long his current contract is.

Not sure how you can do a a tribute to the monarchy and not be divisive. But fair play if they manage it.

It’s the eternal debate of form versus a consistent international team. Seems to be unfair on the people who don’t get in, but I guess the manager would argue that he can’t go changing the whole squad every couple of months. Don’t know what the right answer is TBH, somewhere in the middle I suppose. Ideally these ‘trusted’ England players would be good enough to play well in the PL and stay in their club teams, but seems quite a few of them aren’t.

Yeah, it's me, nothing more than just creating a bit of space between real-life and forum name! The Reading game was my breaking point IIRC, with his absolutely insane substitutions. In my defence I didn't know much about tactics and all that back then. Since seeing managers like Benitez and Howe, where you can actually see their thought processes at work on the pitch, I'd like to think I'd wake up to Pards a bit more quickly.

I think you could easily argue that the team who gets the most points over 40 games should get promoted. That's fairer, although worse entertainment.
