I don't think he'd get a loan to the PL.

He shouldn't be needed in the first team at the moment, unfortunately he is. His development should be treated with more care once we have Tonali, Joelinton and Willock available.

Yep, knew Barnes was going to miss but other than that they were good. Happy for Anderson to smash one in. Sensible move to take Miley out of the shootout as well.

TBF I don't think this game was the one to blow a team away and show a reaction to Arsenal. The opponents weren't a pushover, they smelled blood, had no pressure on them and obviously believed an upset was on the cards. A better performance would have been great obviously.

At the moment we need an easy draw or we'll most likely lose. I would take the easiest possible draw until we find some better performances in general.

Unfair on Gordon who is technically excellent, and possibly on Tonali too.

I think being outplayed technically by a championship team is the depressing thing. The performance was very mixed and obviously Blackburn were super motivated to cause an upset. Any kind of draw in the next round could see the end of us, but I guess we just have to hope the players coming back help and the win itself gives us a confidence boost.

Just need to keep limping on and hope the players coming back kicks us into better form. I can’t see any way we win the FA Cup but fingers crossed for the other better teams meeting in the draw.

He’s not really a dribbler, he’s more like an efficiency player. Gets the ball, makes a decision and an action, executes a shot (usually). See him as much more a wide forward than a creative player. He was wank tonight of course.

A lot of the time I think he looks better than everyone assumes TBH. But definitely can be shown up when the game is scrappy and intense. That does apply to most CBs though TBF. Dire mistake tonight of course.

Hasn't he been injured for like 80% of his time at the club?

I've said loads of times I think Wilson was on the way out sooner if he hadn't put together that freakish period of form that got him in the England squad. Meant that we decided to go with other signings instead of a backup striker.

Will be interesting to see now we have Willock, Anderson and Miley available. IMO all three should really be starting ahead of Longstaff.

Getting a bit concerned at the fact he never plays more than 60 minutes ever. Surely he should be able to run a bit more by now? That said he's absolutely class and if he can be in condition by the start of next season he'll be great.

Still think he's a starter with the current squad.

Tend to agree, we have been average but the situation obviously suits a lower team who want to sit and counter. Expect us to get the job done still.

You can’t have them linking up at all, just too many things can go wrong.

Gordon in CM could work, bring Barnes and Miggy on. We’ve been damp but not that bad, always easier for the lesser club to sit and counter. Need to find another gear though obvs.
