It's weird how this is reported, doesn't really seem like it would reflect how a negotiation is done in real life. I would expect the two clubs to just get on a call and talk until they agreed (or not). It's pretty weird to have these big one-off bids that are prepared and submitted, with long periods of time in between. Is this really how transfers are done?

Yeah, they should try to represent all fans IMO. Obviously it’s hard to know what anyone but the members actually wants. I wouldn’t consider them like a membership organisation in the normal sense, there’s a constituency of NUFC fans that is wider than just that.

I don't think there's a player who would come to just be backup to Wilson who has a PL goalscoring record of any kind. I would've loved to pay £60m for Maddison but he isn't a Wilson backup either.
