Some days I can But happy birthday Murph, he's one of our own.
  2. I think in principle every ticket should just go back on sale if the owner decides not to go to a match. However, I get that football fans are used to being able to decide who gets their ticket and it would be a shock. That’s on a match by match basis though, you should absolutely not be able to assign a ST to another person permanently. Can’t see any case for that at all, it’s not the landed gentry.
  3. I almost think like we're at the point where the membership needs to say something like "access to 1-3 tickets per season via ballot, access to 10am general sales if your queue position is under 2,000" or something like that. Not mentioning how hard it is to get a ticket is almost false advertising at this point
  4. Yeah, I guess they will just use the banal explanation that some games are higher demand than others. Which is true, but doesn't explain things like number of tickets on sale, number of corporate, number of tickets captured by touts etc.
  5. I feel like the best solution might be to do with the face and fingerprint ID on your phone. Something like the ticket only activates for 5 minutes at a time once you need to use it, so you have to scan your face or finger just before the turnstile. That's if the club really can be bothered to spend the money to enforce something which doesn't cost them anything financially.
  6. Guess part of the problem is we didn’t know it would be a dead rubber when it went on sale. Could have been a draw or narrow win and there’d be lots on the line tonight. Guess they could’ve reduced the remaining tickets but people who paid £70 might have been a bit miffed.
  7. The ballot is genuinely a no-win for everyone TBH. It’s the ‘fairest’ way in absolute terms, but also you may as well give up being an active fan if you can only go to 1 or 2 games a season.
  8. Why is limited memberships a non starter? Seems very obvious, easy and logical to me.
  9. Guess that’s part of the reason they placed the new hospitality in the middle of the Leazes end.
  10. What does prior to matchday have to do with anything? Point is they sold a ticket they aren’t allowed to sell
  11. I would definitely limit memberships so the can only be bought pre-season. Let members who queue only buy a ticket for themselves (or maybe one other person). Think @TopL0ader posted a good idea elsewhere about loading tickets onto a digital membership card rather than sending individual passes by email. Could even require FaceID or fingerprint on your phone before it activates and you tap it. I said before that I also saw Man City use a dynamically updating ticket as well, so the ticket changes ID every 15 minutes or so right up until you scan it. Problem is there’s no real business case for this as it costs the club and doesn’t bring anything in.
  12. You’re buying ‘a chance’ to access tickets, but no details of how hard or how rare that is obviously.
  13. Really don't see the point in analysing his stats for this season, we know he's been shite
  14. From complete outsider POV it seems like (a) they don't have motivation to do anything since every game sells out and (b) there's not really a strong business case to invest in the ticketing department since the takeover, for similar reasons to (a). Feels like still running an ancient Ashley-era website and probably the same ticketing team as well.
  15. They're just not the right subs to hurt a good team really. Barnes always struggles against clever and athletic defenders and Murphy was very unlikely to generate anything with his crosses. Guess we needed to freshen it up anyway but I never expected any improvement when they came on.
  16. Ah right, didn’t know we were actually interested.
  17. I find these kind of posts a bit odd. Surely there will always and have always been loads of good players that sign for clubs that aren’t Newcastle. I don’t really get the idea.
  18. I’m convinced we’re just on TV so people can talk about the other team.
  19. Are you thinking he’ll be our starting RW at the start of next season?
  20. I’m really glad they didn’t score a late goal to flatter the scoreline even more as well.
